Every year we wear school uniforms and saying we're "celebrating Youth Day." But what are we really celebrating?

đź“š On June 16, 1976, young people stood up and died for the right to quality education and a better future.
💔 Today, we face unemployment, gender-based violence (GBV), and rising crime — and we’re quiet. That’s not what they died for.

✊🏽 Let’s try something different this year:

Fight for job opportunities for the youth.

Raise awareness about GBV in our communities.

Speak up against crime and injustice.

Organize cleanups, dialogues, workshops, and campaigns.

🗣️ Let’s make June 16 a day of action, not alcohol.
Wearing a uniform doesn’t make it a tribute — standing for something does. Let’s honor the 1976 youth by being brave enough to fight our own battles today.
