Mzansi Magic (Channel 161 DStv) is thrilled to announce that Big Brother Mzansi is back for another exciting season. If you thought the chance had slipped through your fingers, this is your opportunity to slide into the spotlight, so don’t sleep on it! Vuk’ubangene!

Entries for Season 6 of Big Brother Mzansi officially open on Thursday 2 October. Those who want a chance to become the next Big Brother Mzansi housemate and possible winner will need to submit a two-minute audition tape by using the link mzansimagic.tv/bigbrother and following the steps to enter.

If you are a citizen/legal resident of South Africa and 21 years of age or older (as of 1 January 2026), then you can enter Big Brother Mzansi 6. The show’s selection team is looking for housemates who are fun-loving, creative, and original. Most importantly, they have to be open-minded and tolerant of the views and lifestyle choices of others.

To give you an edge over other competitors, applicants need to be creative, memorable, and have the wit to outplay and outlast their fellow housemates.

The winner of season 6 will be joining the ranks of past winners such as Sweet Guluva, (Season 5), Mjuneiro aka Inkabi yase Atlanta McJunior (Season 4), and Michelle Dimpho Mvundla, fondly known as Mpho Wa Badimo, (Season 3).

“Big Brother Mzansi continues to be one of South Africa’s most culturally resonant reality shows, offering a bold and unfiltered lens into the lives of everyday South Africans,” says Shirley Adonisi, Channel Director for Local Entertainment Channels. “More than just entertainment, the show ignites national conversations around identity, relationships, and social dynamics, while celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of Mzansi youth. With its immersive format and real-time audience engagement, Big Brother Mzansi remains a powerful platform for self-expression, discovery, and the emergence of new talent.”

Laduuuuuuma!

If you want to be the voice behind the feeling, read on...

SuperSport has launched an open audition search for commentators and presenters called the SuperSport MVP Talent Search.

Most Valuable Player / Most Valuable Person - you decide which it means.

They're looking for people who are passionate about sport who'd like to present and commentate on the SS channels and auditions are happening online and in the real world.

Who can audition?

South African residents between the ages of 18 to 35.

How to audition online

Fill in the application form on the official website here: MVP Talent Search - Entry Form

Record a unique, 45-second audition clip, bringing your energy, insights and commentary style to life.

You need to base your clip on one of the videos of sporting action provided in the application form. As you'll see, they cover rugby, soccer, netball and cricket.

Application closing date: 1 September 2025.

Real world auditions

These are happening at mobile audition booths at three universities where you can audition in person.

When you get there, you'll register via an iPad, provide your details, agree to the terms, and choose your preferred sport from soccer, rugby, cricket or netball.

Then, step into the mobile studio to deliver your 45-second audition based on a 15-30 second clip of your chosen sport, with a maximum of two takes.

These are the venues and dates:

Port Elizabeth: Nelson Mandela University: 25 August 2025

Cape Town: University of Cape Town: 28 August 2025

If you want to set yourself free by ditching your cellphone, this is for You.

No phones, no more pressure to reply to WhatsApp messages and no more spending your own cash on groceries.

That's what you get if you move into the Big Brother house.

Of course you also spend 24 hours a day with annoying people who you can't escape - so you lose some/you win some when you're a housemate.

Big Brother Mzansi's been renewed for another season and the search is on for those who want to move in...

Who is the production looking for?

You need to be 21 or older on 1 January 2025.

You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa as of 1 October 2024 and need to be in possession of a valid identity document.

The show's looking for dynamic individuals who are articulate, interesting and exhibit enthusiasm for the show as well as a willingness to share their most private thoughts in an open forum of strangers.

You'll also need to have sufficient physical, psychological, and mental capacity to endure approximately 100 days in a monitored house under extraordinary conditions.

What will you win?

There's no mention of what the prize will be but we presume it to be the usual R2-million because it would suck if it.

You also need to create and upload a two-minute video showing what you're made of and explaining why your presence in the house is essential.

This is what you should include in the vid:

1. Video must be maximum 2 minutes in length.

2. It should end with you completing the sentence: "I would make a perfect housemate because..."

3. It must contain your Name, E-mail and Phone Number clearly stated.

4. Avoid all forms of filters, special video effects, copyrighted music and background music.

Tips on making your vid

This from the producers Red Pepper Pictures:

1. Be yourself! We want to get to know who you are as a person. How will your life experience help you win Big Brother? How will you interact with the other housemates?

When describing yourself, remember to cite real life examples.

We love a good story!

2. Making a casting video is not about putting together the best skit or wearing the wackiest costumes. We’re looking for real people and we want to see the real you.

3. If you come from a unique region or area of the country, talk about where you’re from, how it’s a part of your personality, or how it may help you do well on Big Brother.

If you have an interesting job, talk about your job and how those skills may help you win the show.

4. Hold camera steady.

5. If shooting indoors, make sure to shoot in a well lit room with lights in front of you to light your face.

6. Shoot during the day so we can see you instead of trying to see you in the dark.

7. Speak loudly and clearly.

8. Find a relatively quiet area to shoot your video so ambient noises won’t distract from what you’re saying.

9. Your video may be shown on a TV. Please shoot your video like you would see it on a TV. Please shoot landscape (horizontal) and not portrait (vertical) style.

What to expect

If you're selected for the next phase of auditions you'll be informed by 22 December 2024. If you
don't receive an email by the date, you haven't been selected unfortunately.

You might be asked to do another video audition if you reach this round.

If you're selected for the semi-final round of auditions, you must be willing and able to travel to Johannesburg for the final selection process.
