Team Tarbaby's films are largely made within a DIY microbudget ethos, often straddling the boundaries between fiction and reality, cinema and gallery. The members of Team Tarbaby work both individually and together, and with outside collaborators, conceptualising, writing and executing film, art and music projects. Previous films include the documentary Umbilical Cords, the experimental feature The Brown Europe Pageant/Rounds One to Three and short films The Player and The Char Ou from Outer Space. Festivals include IFFR, DIFF, Encounters, The Cambridge African and Film Africa. Screenings include The National Library, The Centre for Conflict Resolution, The District Six Museum and The Natural History Museum. Exhibitions include The Goodman Gallery, Spier Contemporary, Bell Roberts Gallery and the Lyon Bienalle. Current projects are the features Riot Waif and Space Make Up, the documentaries Waithira and Kom Haal My, and the spontaneous madcap fiction South African Psycho Diary of a C**k/ South African Psycho A Feminist Gem Hidden in a Load of Trash.
