Recently, I was asked how I ended up in China, and I'm excited to share my journey with you! π In March 2024, I stumbled upon a post on Breede Valley Municipality's page while scrolling through my feed. They were offering free classes for entrepreneurs struggling with business aspects like accounts and marketing. I thought, "Why not?" and registered on their database. π
A month later, I received an email with details about an opportunity and its requirements. Initially, I was skeptical, but someone very special in my life encouraged me to apply, saying, "Anything is possible, and it won't hurt to try." π Their unwavering support and belief in me gave me the confidence to take the leap.
The application process required a business plan, which was a daunting task for me. Thankfully, someone referred me to Mr. James January Bluepeers Praxis Bluepeers Praxis. He amazed me with his expertise and dedication, delivering an outstanding business plan despite the tight deadline. π
After submitting my application, I was told I'd hear back by a certain date if I was selected. When that day passed without a response, I was disappointed. But three weeks later, I received a call from Cape Winelands informing me that my business had been selected! π
I'm now in China, gaining knowledge and experience in a new culture, all thanks to a scholarship that covers studies, dormitory, and meals (yes, I get more than enough π). Huge thanks to Winelands, Chinese Culture and International Education Exchange Centre Chinese Culture Center in South Africa, and for organizing and funding this program.
My takeaway? We often think opportunities are scarce, but sometimes we just don't know where to start or who to ask. The more you ask, the more you'll know, and the more capable you'll become to achieve your goals. π
