UPDATE 📌

The municipal meeting schedule for 09:00 am was not materialized, the district mayor did not show to the meeting, the local mayor did but the community states that they want to speak to the district mayor, because of his unfulfilled promises residents are sitting without water as we speak and the community will continue till there is a change.

The entrance's at Platinum cash and carry and Shell is currently closed. 📰

📰Sentencing of Paballo Tshetlhane

Male accused, Paballo Tshetlhane (Lesotho National), was detained and charged for alleged assault of his girlfriend, a GBV related case and contravention of Immigration Act, at the farm, Tweefontein, Zeerust.

The accused pleaded guilty on both charges. The State and Court convicted him on both charges:
• Count 1 - Assault causing Grievous Bodily Harm.
• Count 2 - Contravention of Immigration Act.

The accused is sentenced to a 24-month direct Improvement, deportation to his original country and court declared him unfit to possess a fire-arm.

We welcomed the sentencing and applaud the presiding officer and the State for sending a strong message to offenders of Gender-Based Violence.
