Chilubi District is one of Zambia’s most unique and beautiful districts it’s made up of three sections: the Mainland, the Swamps, and the Island.

Its BOMA (district headquarters) is located on Chilubi Island, in an area called Muchinshi. The district is vast and rich in natural beauty, connected by Lake Bangweulu and surrounded by wetlands that support both people and wildlife.

So when you hear Chilubi District is not just an island it’s a land of three parts, each with its own story.

🚨BUS FIRE INCIDENT – PMWANSA BUS SERVICES🚨

Date: 18th October 2025
Time: Around 14:00 hours
Location: Lukola area, after Chembe

A P. Mwansa Bus traveling from the Copperbelt caught fire this afternoon near Lukola, shortly after passing through Chembe. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 14:00 hours.

Fortunately, all passengers on board managed to evacuate safely before the fire spread. No injuries or fatalities have been reported at this stage.

Authorities are yet to establish the exact cause of the fire, and further investigations are underway.
