We are always told that “youth are the future leaders of Zambia.”
But the truth is ,leadership doesn’t start in the future. It starts with us, right now.
It is encouraging to see more young people beginning to step into leadership spaces, whether in schools, communities, politics, or other areas of influence. That shift is important for our country’s future because it brings fresh ideas, energy, and a mindset that understands the challenges of our generation better than anyone else.
Zambia’s development will not only depend on those in power today, but also on how active, aware, and responsible the youth become in shaping tomorrow. When young people participate, they don’t just observe change ,they become part of it.
We cannot afford a generation that only watches and complains. We need a generation that engages, learns, leads, and builds.
Every young person who steps forward is helping shape the direction of this nation, whether in leadership, business, education, or community action.
So this is a reminder to all of us:
We are not only future leaders… we are current builders of Zambia’s future.
And what we choose to do now will define what our country becomes.
