Nalichula ine, I’m the first to graduate in my family - says viral nurse Kaoma

Lisa Kaoma, the nurse who went viral after posting a video of herself reciting Kanye West’s Good Morning lyrics containing offensive language has apologized for her actions.

“If there’s anyone who has truly suffered to get through school, it’s me. Just getting the paper was a battle,”
“Nalichula sana ine, forgive me. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I was just happy my parents were happy so I posted the videos,”Kaoma said.

Kaoma’s celebratory post shared shortly after her graduation at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium drew criticism from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.

NMCZ registrar and chief executive officer Beauty Zimba said the nurse’s conduct was contrary to the standards expected in the profession.

Betway Temporarily Halts Operations in Zambia

Betway has announced the temporary suspension of its operations in Zambia following the government’s introduction of a new 10% excise duty. The company says the new tax has made the current business environment unsustainable for both customers and the company.

In a statement, Betway assured users that their funds remain safe and available for withdrawal at their convenience. All open bets will be settled, and winnings will be paid out as usual.

Betway expressed hope to resume operations once a fair and balanced solution is reached, thanking customers for their understanding and continued support.

LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL LAUNCHES PROBE INTO ALLEGED OFFICER MISCONDUCT AT BH MARKET

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) expresses deep concern over a circulating social media video depicting a Council police officer soliciting and receiving an undisclosed amount of money from a Vlogger at BH Market in the Central Business District (CBD).

We wish to categorically state that the actions of the officer in question were not sanctioned by the Council. The LCC does not condone corruption or any illegal conduct in any form and remains committed to upholding integrity and accountability in all its operations.

Furthermore, the public is advised that the Council has never charged, nor does it require any form of permit for vlogging activities. Vlogging is not classified among activities that necessitate Council-issued permits.

We have therefore instituted serious investigations on the matter and if the officer involved is found wanting, he will be dealt with accordingly.

The Council acknowledges the importance of content creation and its role in promoting tourism and culture. We are committed to working with content creators and providing them with the necessary support and guidance in within the boundaries of the law.

We value the contributions of content creators to our city’s image and look forward to continuing to work with them to promote Lusaka as a tourist-friendly destination.
