UPND KAMWALA WARD VICE YOUTH CHAIRMAN & KABWATA IPS YOUTH WING MEMBER SUSPENDED

The UPND has suspended it's Vice Youth Chairman, for Kamwala Ward - Michael Sulwe and Phillip Simbayi of it's IPS Youth Wing, both for a period of six (6) months effective 19th November 2025.

This follows a disciplinary hearing held on the 13th November 2025 at the Party's command centre on allegations of unruly conduct, insulting language and a physical attack on Mr. Mike Mulabe, a UPND member.

Kanyama Member of Parliament Monty Chinkuli has expressed concern over reports that some residents are abandoning their designated voter registration centres and opting to register in neighbouring constituencies such as Matero and Kabwata.

Mr. Chinkuli says the trend is unfortunate, warning that if residents do not register and vote within Kanyama, the constituency risks losing out on development and proper representation.

He has appealed to all eligible residents especially those who live and work in Kanyama to register within the constituency so they can fully participate in shaping its governance.

Mr. Chinkuli has further called on the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security to facilitate access to registration for school-going youths who have obtained NRCs, proposing weekend registration sessions to avoid disrupting examinations.

He has encouraged young people aged 18 and above to acquire NRCs and register as voters, stressing that voting is a key civic right and the primary way citizens can express their voice through the ballot.
Meanwhile, Mandevu Member of Parliament Ephraim Shakafuswa has echoed similar concerns, revealing that some voters from his constituency are registering at North Rise Polling Centre located in Katuba Constituency.

Mr. Shakafuswa says it is unfair for individuals to demand development in areas where they are not registered to vote. He has urged all eligible residents to take advantage of the ongoing mass voter registration exercise and register in the constituencies where they reside and expect services.
