JUST THINKING
In today's world, social media has turned everyone into a self-proclaimed specialist in almost every field, regardless of their actual profession or area of study. This trend has made it increasingly common for people to confidently voice opinions on matters they may not fully understand.
For instance, when someone passes away, despite the relentless efforts of medical professionals to save their life, outsiders often feel entitled to analyze the situation and suggest what the doctors "should have done." Their opinions are usually based on personal beliefs, not medical expertise.
In legal matters, court judgments are delivered based on thorough examination of facts by qualified lawyers and judges. Yet, the general public frequently offers their own interpretations and judgments, often without a full understanding of the legal intricacies involved.
The same applies to economic issues. When the economy struggles, suddenly everyone becomes an economist, offering solutions they believe would fix the situation. Professional economists spend months analyzing complex data and proposing strategies, but their insights are often dismissed by people who think they have simpler, better solutions.
Even when governments undertake projects, they rely on experts to conduct feasibility studies and determine costs through detailed processes that take time. However, once these projects are announced, the public frequently criticizes them, suggesting alternative costs or accusing officials of corruption — often without considering the professional analyses behind those decisions.
What I'm trying to say is that we live in an era where everyone claims to be an expert in everything. Rarely do people admit to not knowing something or take the time to consult those who are specialists in a particular field.
Therefore, it's important to be mindful of whom you choose to listen to and what you choose to learn from them. True wisdom comes from recognizing that we don’t know everything and from valuing the expertise of those who have dedicated their lives to understanding specific fields.
