Lusaka.... Tuesday November 25, 2025 (SMART EAGLES)

The Zambia Police Service has launched a manhunt for suspects behind a brutal murdΒ£r and aggr@vated r0bbery that occurred in Lusaka’s Woodlands Township on Monday.

The incident happened on November 24, 2025, around 12:00 hours at House No. 30, Milima Road, where 56-year-old Yu Bin, a Chinese national, was attacked and fatally shot by unknown ass@ilants believed to have been trailing him.

According to a report made to Woodlands Police Station by the victim’s wife, 57-year-old Diane Yuan, the cr|minals struck as Mr Yu returned home from a bank withdrawal in Chilenje.

Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said he left home around 10:00 hours in his Chevrolet motor vehicle, registration number ALP 818, and was sh0t as he waited for the gate to be opened.

β€œThe suspects approached him, sh0t him, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables," he said.

He added that the ass@ilants were riding a motorbike whose registration number has not yet been established.

He said Police officers rushed the victim to Maina Soko Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

His body has since been deposited in the facility’s mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.

Mr Chilabi urged members of the public to come forward with any information that could help identify or apprehend the suspects.

"We appeal to anyone with information that may assist investigations to report to the nearest police station. All information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality," he said.

Police investigations remain ongoing.
