PROMINENT NKEYEMA BUSINESSMAN YAKAIPA & HIS FRIEND KILLED OVER RITUAL ALLEGATIONS

Two people have been killed in Mumbwa district by an irate mob during a riot after information went round that a person had been killed in a suspected ritual murder.

The two include prominent Nkeyema and Mumbwa Businessman SIKAONGA ENERST popularly known as Yakaipa and his friend DAVID MWAKIYOMA a Tanzanian who was burnt by the rioting mob.

Deputy Police Spokesperson, DANNY MWALE says the riots started after the killing of MWIYA KASHWEKA whom the mob suspected that his heart and private parts were removed.

Mr. MWALE says one person was in process apprehended by the members of the public and taken to the police which provoked the riot.

He says many Mumbwa residents descended on the police demanding that the suspect be handed over to them which led to police running battles with the residents.

Mr. MWALE says various public buildings have been destroyed by the rioting residents among them a Veterinary office, Police office, Immigration office and National registration office.

He has however told ZNBC News that police in the area have received reinforcement from the Zambia Army and Department of Wildlife among others.

THREE PUPILS KILLED IN A ROAD ACCIDENT IN LUSAKA 😭😭😭😭

Four people died while one survived with injuries in a Road Traffic Accident which occured today at 06:30 hours in Ibex Hill area in Lusaka.

Among the people who have been confirmed dead are three school going children identified as James Phiri aged 13, Felix Mwansa aged 14 and Richard Mapulanga aged 15 all pupil at Family Legacy School located in Ibex Hill area.

The other deceased male adult person has not yet been identified while the injured victim has been identified as Samson Ngoma aged 13 also a pupil at Family Legacy School.

He was rushed to the University Teaching Hospitals where he is receiving treatment.

Police investigations indicate that the accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota Camry bearing registration number BAL 5830 lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed and hit into five pedestrians who were walking off the road in the opposite direction near Saint Agnes Health Clinic. The vehicle only rested after overturning upside down.

The driver, identified as Mulemwa Akamani aged 26 of Woodlands sustained minor injuries. He was treated at the same clinic and later discharged. He has been detained in Police custody yet to be charged.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited in UTH mortuary waiting for formal identification and postmortem.

The motor vehicle is extensively damaged.

US GIVES ZAMBIA FOUR FREE ADVANCED HELICOPTERS

The United States Government has given Zambia four new High performance helicopters and three year training of staff worth about K1.5-billion.

United States Africa Command -AFRICOM- Commander General MICHAEL LANGLEY says the helicopters will enable Zambia continue to support UN peace keeping missions on the continent and are in line with its commitment of maintaining peace in Africa.

Speaking at a media briefing, General LANGLEY said the helicopters will also help Zambia in responding to future disasters, assist in effects of climate change and provide assistance to neighbours.

And Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General SITALI ALIBUZWI said the military has signed many agreements with different countries.

And US Ambassador to Zambia MICHAEL GONZALAS said his country and Zambia have various areas of cooperation which include health and military cooperation.

CHIEF GOVERNMENT WHIP & PERMANENT SECRETARY GET INVOLVED IN A ROAD ACCIDENT

Honourable Stafford Mulusa, the Solwezi Central Member of Parliament and Permanent Secretary at Cabinet Office Naomi Tentamashimba survived with injuries in a Road Traffic Accident that occurred in Kabwe District at Fig tree area along the Great North Road around 07:30 hours.

They were in a Toyota Landcruiser bearing registration number GRZ 734C driven by Honourable Mulusa aged 48 of Ibex in Lusaka.

They were moving towards Kabwe town when the unknown driver of a Toyota Mark X, while moving in the same direction, misjudged clearance distance and hit behind the Landcruiser resulting in Honourable Mulusa losing control of the vehicle and in the process collided with the FAWO Truck and Trailer which was moving in the opposite direction. The Truck and trailer bearing registration numbers BLA 1025 BLA 1027 and BLA 1024 had three people on board

The condition of the driver of the Toyota Mark X and its damages are not known as the driver fled the scene soon after the accident happened while the Landcruiser is extensively damaged.

The truck had its right wheel damaged and everyone on board including the driver escaped unhurt.

Honourable Mulusa and Ms. Tentamashimba sustained injuries and were rushed to Kabwe Central Hospital for treatment. The two have since been taken to the University Teaching Hospitals.

POLICE 🚓🚨 STATEMENT ON TWO ROCKVIEW UNIVERSITY STUDENTS THAT DIED ON WEDNESDAY

Two people only identified as George Mumbi aged 24 of kasama District and Hilda Bupe Mumba aged 21 of Luanshya District both students at Rockview University in Lusaka died in what the Police suapect to be a Murder and a Su***de case.

The two students were found unconscious in a room at Green Grass Lodges Boarding house in Lusaka and were rushed to Matero Level One Hospital where they were both pronounced dead.

The incident is reported to have occurred between 08:00 hours and 15:00 hours on September 6, 2023 but Police received the report of the incident around 15:45 hours and rushed to the scene at the Boarding house located along Mungule Road in 10 miles area.

Initial investigations revealed the two students were in a relationship and recently the female student was suspecting her boyfriend of being in another relationship with unknown female at the Boarding house.

According to the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage, the female student was seen going to the room of the male student where she was seen knocking but got no response. They later met outside and both went into the male's room.

Around 08:00 hours, the male student was seen exiting his room and locking it and later left the premises of the Boarding house. A while later, he emerged with a parcel in one hand and jumped over the wire fence into the premises of the Boarding house and went back into the room.

After a while, a caretaker and other students alleged that they heard screams calling for help coming from the room. The Caretaker and other students managed to force the door open and the female student was found laying unconsciously on one of the beds while the male student was battling for his life in the bathroom with an unknown white substance poured and smelling within the room.

They were rushed to Matero Level One Hospital where they were both pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police observed that the female student sustained bruises around the neck and a cut on the left leg while the male student's body was intact. A cup suspected to have been used to take the unknown substance and a pillow with vomits on it were picked to assist with further investigations.

The two bodies were deposited in the University Teaching Hospitals mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Police have opened an inquiry file into the incident.
