Today, 20th June, 2026, Copperbelt Province sent a clear, thunderous message across Zambia that the United Party for National Development (UPND) is not just alive and well, it is self-sustaining, deeply rooted and driven by a highly proactive leadership.
In a magnificent display of organizational strength, the Copperbelt provincial leadership successfully hosted a massive public rally today. What makes this achievement remarkably significant is that it was executed without the physical presence of either His Excellency, President Hakainde Hichilema or Her Honour, the Vice President.
For a long time, standard political culture dictated that a massive party gathering required the presence of the presidency to attract a crowd. Today, the Copperbelt team completely shattered that myth. They demonstrated that while our national leaders are busy handling critical state affairs, the party machinery on the ground can and must continue to vibrate with energy.
By taking the initiative to interact directly with the members of the public, answer their questions and highlight the partyβs ongoing developmental agenda, the Copperbelt executive proved that true leadership does not wait for a directive or a VIP presence to engage its people. They stepped up, took ownership and delivered.
If we are to maintain our momentum and continue drawing massive crowds to the UPND banner nationwide, other provinces and party structures must emulate this proactive approach.
Do not wait for national leaders to spark the fire. As local structures, you are the closest to the people. Take charge of your territories.
Interaction with the public should be a permanent, ongoing dialogue, not an occasional event tied only to presidential tours.
A rally of this scale requires flawless coordination among local leaders, youth segments and womenβs wings. The Copperbelt has shown that unity of purpose naturally attracts the masses.
The Implementors Team extends its profound appreciation to the Copperbelt provincial leadership for their stellar example of mature, independent, and result-oriented organization.
You have shown that the UPND is a formidable force, powered by an active and passionate grassroots network.
To the rest of our structures across the country, the template has been set. Let us rise to the occasion, take up the mantle of mobilization in our respective zones and continue to show the people of Zambia why the UPND remains the party of choice.
Forward with development.
