PREGNANT WOMAN DIES IN SPEEDING AMBULANCE

A 21-YEAR-OLD pregnant woman of Kabwe, her unborn baby and a male nurse have died after the ambulance they were on was involved in a road accident, which has been blamed on the driver overspeeding on the way to the hospital.

The expecting mother, Agatha Chanda, and the nurse Simon Lukama, were on their way to Kabwe Central Hospital, where she had been referred to, from Katondo Clinic when the accident happened at a curve on the Hospital-Mukobeko road around 18:00 hours on New Year’s Day.

As a result of the high speed, the ambulance, which was being driven by Charles Makasa, 40, careered off the road and hit into a tree.
