FAITH OVER FEELINGS FRIDAY: FINDING JOY IN WHAT TRULY MATTERS

In a world that often measures happiness by wealth, success, or abundance, the Bible gives us a beautiful but often overlooked truth: "You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound" (Psalm 4:7).

These words remind us that true joy isn’t found in what we have but in Who we know. The psalmist declares that even when others celebrate material blessings, the deep, abiding joy of walking with God surpasses it all.

God’s presence fills our hearts with a contentment that circumstances cannot shake. When we seek Him first, He plants within us a joy that doesn’t depend on external thingsa joy that remains steady in both seasons of lack and seasons of plenty.

So often, we chase temporary happiness in achievements, possessions, or the approval of others, only to find it fleeting. But when we fix our hearts on the Lord, He gives us a gladness that endures.

True joy isn’t just a feeling, it’s a gift from God to those who trust in Him. Let’s choose today to find our greatest delight in Him alone. The Lord is the source of true joy. Find your happiness in Him, knowing that His love satisfies more than anything this world offers. So may He your heart with peace today. Amen.
