WILLAR MUDOLO’S VISION FOR ZAMBIA IS BUILDING ECONOMIC RESILIENCE TO DRIVE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

September 29, 2025

By Aaron Himwaami

Willar Joseph Mudolo a PF aspiring Presidential candidate has laid out a bold vision for Zambia’s future, with economic resilience standing as the second pillar of his transformative agenda once elected President. His vision is rooted in the belief that Zambia can no longer afford to be vulnerable to external shocks, but must instead build an economy that is self-reliant, diversified, and inclusive.

For far too long, Zambia has been overly dependent on copper exports, leaving the nation at the mercy of volatile global markets. Under Mudolo’s leadership, Zambia will expand beyond copper by promoting agriculture, tourism, and renewable energy. With over 40% of arable land still unused, Mudolo envisions a Zambia that feeds not only itself but also the region, while creating thousands of jobs in agro-processing.

Mudolo’s vision focuses on keeping wealth within Zambia. Instead of exporting raw materials, his plan emphasizes value addition turning copper into finished products like cables, processing cotton into textiles, and transforming maize into packaged goods for export.

This approach will generate employment, boost local industries, and strengthen Zambia’s position on the global market.

Economic resilience under Mudolo means empowering ordinary citizens. He pledges to expand access to digital banking, microfinance, and entrepreneurship loans, especially targeting women and youth. Just as mobile money has transformed economies in East Africa, Zambia too can unleash innovation and growth when every citizen has access to financial tools.

Mudolo who himself is a development expert understands that no nation can develop without strong infrastructure. His economic blueprint prioritizes roads, railways, and energy expansion. With abundant sunshine and water resources, Zambia has the potential to lead Africa in renewable energy. Investing in hydropower and solar energy will not only cut costs for businesses but also create a competitive industrial base.

At the heart of Mudolo’s vision lies human capital development. By strengthening education, vocational training, and ICT skills, his government will prepare young Zambians for the jobs of the future. He believes that a skilled, innovative, and adaptable workforce is Zambia’s greatest asset for achieving true resilience.

He pledges a government anchored in accountability, transparency, and economic discipline. Investors thrive where policies are predictable and corruption is tackled. His leadership will guarantee that Zambia becomes a hub of stability and growth, restoring investor confidence while ensuring that citizens benefit from national wealth.

Mudolo recognizes the challenges Zambia faces such as youth unemployment, climate change, and a heavy debt burden. Yet he sees these as opportunities.

He add that unemployment will be met with entrepreneurship and startup incubation.

Climate change will push investment in climate-smart farming and green industries.

“Economic resilience is not just a policy for Mudolo but a promise to the Zambian people. A promise that the nation will not be left at the mercy of global fluctuations, but will instead chart its own course to prosperity. With enhanced economic tentacles, Zambia can transform from dependency to independence, from vulnerability to resilience, and from potential to lasting prosperity.

Mudolo’s vision is clear, a resilient economy is the foundation of a stronger Zambia, where every citizen shares in the nation’s progress

Presidential candidate, Joseph Willah Mudolo says there is need for a stable economy if the future of Zambians is to be secured.

Mudolo, in his five (5) pillars of transformation, intends to implement economic reforms that will resonate with the desires of the citizens.

He says ordinary Zambians will never applaud
economic reforms that do not have an effect on their livelihood, hence the need to build a strong and stable economy that will not easily be brought to a standstill in an event of global shocks.

In comparison with the ruling UPND governments satisfaction with what they term as scored in economic recovery, Mudolo says only the people in power seem to pinpoint what they feel they have achieved while the ordinary citizens have dwindled into worser poverty.

The PF Presidential aspirant has since called for the need to protect vulnerable citizens by making proper use of the nations natural resources which ultimately could contribute to managing matters such as debt.

He says under his plans to build a resilient economy, the country will move away from focusing on a single commodity such as copper, but diversify into other sectors such as mining, which has clearly been mishandled when it has the power to help build the nations finances and foreign exchange, thereby helping in controlling things like inflation.

Madam Mumbi Phiri Sets the Record Straight on Comrade Mudolo

Mumbi Phiri, a prominent figure in the Patriotic Front (PF) party, has sent out voice note to a PF WhatsApp group’s to address the swirling controversy around Comrade Mudolo.

Her message was intended to silence the "noise" and affirm Mudolo's long-standing connection to the party.

"Enough of the noise. Let me be clear, Comrade Mudolo is no newcomer to the PF," madam Phiri stated in the voice note.

She then recounted a personal encounter to establish his history, noting that the late President Michael Sata himself introduced Mudolo to her in 2007.

"I remember it clearly. Our founding father, President Michael Sata, himself brought Mudolo to me when I was National Chairman and said, 'He is one of us.' That was the beginning."

Madam Phiri also highlighted Mudolo's consistent support for the party, citing a time when the PF was in opposition.

"His loyalty has been proven, not just in words.

I vividly remember him sponsoring our Youth Day celebrations during President Mwanawasa's time, standing with the party when it mattered."

In a notable addition to the story, Phiri used the voice note to clarify Mudolo's Zambian identity and origin.

She explicitly stated, "This man is very much Zambian who was born in Mufulira, and I can describe him as a Mufulira Boy."

She concluded her message with a call for unity and respect among party members, urging them to focus on constructive competition.

"So I urge all members to have patience and respect for all candidates," she said. "A comrade like Mudolo, who has supported the party in various ways for so long, deserves that respect.

Let us compete with ideas, not insults. Let us have peace and unity."

NACHILIMA DEMANDS OVER K21 MILLION IN DAMAGES FOR SON’S D£ATH
...as she drags Maria Zaloumis and Nathaniel Barthram to the High Court

Kabwe... Saturday September 26, 2025

A case involving the tragic d£ath of a young man allegedly t0rtured while in unlawful custody has reached the High Court, with the plaintiff seeking damages amounting to more than K21 million.

Grace Nachilima, the mother of the late Enock Simfukwe Kasengele, has filed a claim against Maria Zaloumis and Nathaniel Barthram, accusing them of gross negligence and vi0lent acts that led to her son’s d£ath in August this year.

Ms Nachilima is suing in her capacity as Administratrix of her son’s estate.

According to court filings, Kasengele was unlawfully detained on 16th August 2025, where he was subjected to severe b£atings and degrading treatment while restrained with r0pes.

He reportedly succumbed to a brain contusion the following day.

A postmortem report dated 20th August 2025 confirmed the cause of d£ath.

Lawyers representing Ms Nachilima from Patrick Chulu Legal Practitioners allege that a widely circulated video shows the defendants interrogating and assaulting Kasengele, despite his visible pain and repeated pleas for release.

The plaintiff argues that the actions of the defendants vi0lated the deceased’s constitutional rights to life and liberty.

Ms Nachilima further claims she has endured severe mental anguish and trauma, including tremors, after watching the video of her son’s torture.

She has since sought professional therapy to cope with the emotional distress.

The lawsuit demands compensation under several heads of damages:

Negligence causing death – K5 million

Dependency (Fatal Accidents Act) – K10 million

Loss of expectation of life – K3 million

Funeral expenses – K250,000

M£ntal anguish and trauma – K3,658,201

The total claim amounts to K21,908,201.

This case has sparked public debate, particularly as the circulating video has raised concerns over unlawful detention practices and human rights violations in Zambia.
