Fellow Citizens,

We are concerned by reports of some public institutions being involved in activities that risk undermining confidence in our electoral process.

My appeal is straightforward, let every public institution remain neutral and allow the Zambian people to decide freely at the ballot box.

To our teachers, council workers and all civil servants, I want to assure you that the NRPUP government will respect your professionalism. You have a constitutional duty to remain professional, impartial and to serve all Zambians without political influence.

We are committed to improving your welfare, restoring professionalism in the public service, reducing political interference and implementing reforms such as debt swap, to strengthen councils and improve service delivery.

This election should be decided by the people and not by fear, intimidation or the misuse of public institutions.

Our campaign remains focused on practical solutions. Creating jobs, supporting farmers, empowering young people, expanding opportunities in the mining sector, improving public services, and building an economy that works for every Zambian is what we stand for.

On 13 August, let us choose hope, unity and meaningful change.

We are grateful to God to report that she is in good spirits and unharmed.

FIRST-HAND INFORMATION REGARDING A REPORT OF SHOOTING INCIDENCE- KANYAMA POLICE STATION. OB #12922/26

Be informed that Kanyama Police Station today 08/07/26 at 15:43 hrs received a report of the above nature in which M/Chapatuka Mwiche aged 42 of plot no. 187/23 Makeni Villa also reported through a phone call that there was a shooting incidence in his neighbourhood. This occurred around 15:00 hrs today 08/07/26 in Makeni Villa, Lusaka.

Brief facts of the matter are that one of the victim now deceased, F/ Theresa Nyambe aged 43 of plot no. 181/91, Makeni Villa also had earlier complained of having been assaulted by the husband M/Clifford Chileshe aged 45 of the same abode and reported the matter at Kanyama Police Station on the 06/07/26 at around 2300 hrs. OB # 12794/26 refers. She sustained a cut on upper lips, swollen eyes, bleeding from the nose and general body pains. She was later issued with a medical report and docket was opened.

Today the 08/07/26 at around 14:00hrs, the Complainant reported to Kanyama Police Station in the Victim Support Unit office where she was issued with a call-out for the husband M/Clifford to avail himself before the police. The complainant who had been escorted by her young brother M/Innocent Nyambe aged 39 of unknown house number, Libala also a lawyer by profession and working for Investigator General's office then left to serve the suspect.

At around 15:43 hrs, Police received a report of a Shooting Incidence in Makeni Villa area through a phone call from the reporter and they rushed to the scene.

Upon reaching the scene, Police observed one body of a female lying in cold blood in front of the house to the main entrance with the door closed. Police went round the house and knocked on all windows but no one responded. Police steadily forced the door open and observed (2) two more dead bodies with one lying on the floor and the other lying in a couch and all bleeding. Further, gunshot wounds where observed with the Female sustaining 3 gunshot wounds; 02 in the chest and 01 on the right arm. The one in the couch sustained gunshot wounds 03 in the chest and 01 left leg and the one lying on the floor sustained a gunshot wound in the chin protruding from the top of the head. The scene of crime team appreciated the place and the following were collected; 08 empty cartridges (02 picked from outside and 06 in the house.) 02 Pistols namely; CANIK serial number T6472-19AT02370 with 09 rounds of ammunition and a MILLENNIUM G2 serial TKW90354 with 5 rounds of ammunition. Also in the yard was a Nissan Nivara motor vehicle reg no. GRZ 160 CZ and a Subaru Impreza reg No. ASB 1539. The vehicles have been secured at Kanyama Police Station and the three bodies which the relatives have identified by relatives as F/ Theresa Nyambe, M/Innocent Nyambe and M/Clifford Chileshe. Police have since picked the 3 bodies and deposited to the University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial. Inquiry file opened. More to follow.
