We get told - wear black, navy blue or grey. I get to the gate in my black short sleeved, surely formal, dress. Ati - no it must be long sleeved.

Rare time I wear heels, they don't like my sandals either. You must wear closed shoes.

Can I go and change - no, you will be late.

Officer says - come with me.

Takes me to a side room. Gives me her jacket and shoes. Shoes are a size too big and I say so. Ati - it's OK.

She gives me tissue to stuff them.

I do.

She says walk.

I do.

She's not satisfied.

Put more tissue, so they look like you fit.

I do.

Then - hurry, hurry, your friends are already rehearsing.

Patriotic Front (PF) faction acting president, Given Lubinda, has declared that he values his reputation and legacy more than the desire to form government , drawing a bold line between power and principle.

This follows after Dr. Zumani Zimba shared screenshots claiming that Lubinda was involved in the selection of the Council of Leaders for the Tonse Alliance. The posts have since gone viral, sparking controversy across political circles.

But Lubinda isn’t taking it lightly. He insists the screenshots are “fake” and says he is ready to take Dr. Zimba to ZICTA and the courts of law if that’s what it takes to clear his name.

Appearing on Prime TV on October 11, the former Justice Minister was reminded by the host that with elections just ten months away, the PF’s internal wrangles and Tonse Alliance disputes should be his top priority.

However, Lubinda’s response was firm and emotional:

“My reputation is more important than forming government.”

With that statement, he made it clear, he’d rather walk away with his name intact than compromise his integrity for political power.
