For the Motherland, we say No:

The Drumbeat We Have Heard Before

I hear the drums again, beating low,
The same old song from years ago,
A third-time echo, a borrowed crown,
But Zambians know - we tear it down.

Not in my Zambia, not in our name,
We are not children of the same old game.
We learned from Chiluba's fallen hand,
That power bows to the People's stand.

From Zambezi banks to Copperbelt dust,
Our Constitution is our sacred trust.
Two terms you serve, then you go home,
You do not make the State your own.

You call it love for Zambia dear?
Then love her enough to disappear.
True patriots know when to let go,
When the harvest is done, you leave the field to grow.

Those who pursued it did not end well,
Their names became a warning bell.
Mobs cheered them once, then streets went cold,
The story is ancient, too often told.

We are One Zambia, One Nation strong,
We sing our anthem proud and long.
Not for a man, but for the land,
For every child who'll take a stand.

So let the drums beat themselves to sleep,
We are awake, our watch we keep.
No third term here. Not now. Not ever.
Zambia First - today and forever.

No country can develop by holding elections and changing governments every five years.

Extending the term limit to ten years would be ideal for Zambia.
Zambia and Africa as a whole don't need democracy, because it has been hindering our nation’s growth and progress for too long. We shouldn’t be changing governments every five years.

What we truly need is a strong, capable leader to lead us, regardless of term limits. So, yes, we want President Hakainde Hichilema to rule beyond 2031. With UPND and President Hakainde in power, Zambia shall never be the same.

Zambian-American Influencer "One Boss Lady" Released From Prison

A Zambian-American influencer and political vlogger has been released from prison after serving part of an 18-month sentence for hate speech, following insulting remarks made about Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema.

Zambian-born Ethel Chisono Edwards, who also holds US citizenship and works as an estate agent in New York.
The 42-year-old was arrested at Zambia's main airport last year after arriving to attend her grandmother's funeral.

'What is happening to Brian Mundubile and the team is bad. The delay to take them to court is so regrettable. Their human rights must be respected accordingly as they are still innocent before the law.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF BEING AN MP.

1. A monthly salary of about K54,000.
2. A vehicle allowance of about US$80,000.
3. Approximately K2,500 sitting allowance for each sitting of Parliament.
4. Sitting allowances for parliamentary committees on which an MP serves.
5. A gratuity that can reportedly amount to K3–5 million after five years of service, depending on applicable terms and conditions.
6. Subsidised accommodation at the Parliament Motel.
7. Subsidised food, drinks and other services at Parliament and the Parliament Motel.

I wish all our 274 Members of Parliament well as they begin their tour of duty, once the President officially opens Parliament next month.

As you take your respective seats in that important House called the National Assembly, may you always remember that the privilege of serving in Parliament comes with a great responsibility.

Put the interests of the people and the nation first. Your decisions, debates and actions will have a direct impact on the lives of the people you represent.

Have a blessed Sabbath, everyone.

God bless Zambia. 🇿🇲🙏
