This Longwe guy was being delirious to think President Hichilema can be disqualified but the ConCourt told him to go to hell.

He is even lucky they didn't ask him to pay the cost, for putting up such nonsense.

Longwe , a petitioner instead started challenging the minutes which resolved to hold the General assembly in UPND instead of challenging the substantive matter as to whether HH indeed qualified to stand as Republican President or not…. Further the petitioner started challenging whether the UPND elections were free and fair instead of challenging HH under article (100), whether HH qualified to stand or not under article (100) of the constitution of Zambia .

Verdict : Matter thrown out !

UPND SECRETARY GENERAL Batuke Imenda was represented by Counsel Mulambo HAIMBE SC , Counsel Moono and Keith Mweemba .

The state ( ECZ , Registrar of Societies ) were represented by Counsel Muchende SC .

"This morning, I attended the Subordinate Court, Lusaka to offer solidarity and support to my brothers Joe Black Apple, Ricky, Peter Ma Chain and ten others who are currently facing criminal charges arising from an incident alleged to have occurred in Chawama on 5th June 2026.

The accused persons have been charged with:

1. Assaulting a Police Officer
2. Theft
3. Criminal Trespass

The matter came up before the court today, where the accused persons applied for bail pending trial.

The court has since granted bail to all the accused persons, allowing them to remain at liberty while the matter proceeds through the judicial process.

The accused persons are represented by learned counsel Mr. Jonas Zimba of Makebi Zulu Advocates and Mr. Kambwa Aongola.

As the matter is now before the courts, it is important to allow the judicial process to take its course. Every accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, and we remain confident that justice will prevail.
