My dear brothers and sisters of Kabanana Ward 27,
It is with a full heart that I write to you today.

Serving you as your Councillor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. From the very beginning, you entrusted me with a responsibility that I have never taken lightly. Together, we have walked a journey marked by both challenges and meaningful progress. We have faced difficulties, yes, but we have also celebrated victories that remind us what is possible when a community stands united.

I am proud of what we have achieved together. From improving community engagement, to pushing for better services, to standing firm on issues that matter to our people, every step has been driven by your voices, your resilience, and your belief in a better Kabanana.
Today, I wish to inform you that I will not be contesting as councillor for kabanana ward 27.

This has not been an easy decision. However, I firmly believe that leadership is also about knowing when to pass on the baton. Our ward is rich with capable, passionate individuals who carry fresh ideas and new energy. It is important that we allow space for others to serve, to contribute, and to take Kabanana to even greater heights.
Change is not a setback, it is an opportunity for growth.

As I step aside, I do so with confidence in the future of our ward. I urge you all to continue being active, engaged, and united. Support those who come forward to lead, hold them accountable, and continue to demand the development that Kabanana deserves.
Above all, I want to say thank you.

Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for walking this journey with me.
You have not only been constituents, you have been family.

My commitment to Kabanana remains strong. I will always be part of this community, and I will always stand with you.
May God bless you all, and may God bless Kabanana Ward 27.

My next political move will be communicated soon.....

Yours sincerely,
Joseph N. Katongo (Dr Kwantamu)
1st Councillor, Kabanana Ward 27

OTHERS ARE INDIFFERENT TO THE STATE OF KABANANA CHAZANGA ROAD, WHICH IS WHY THEY SHOW NO CONCERN.

The Kabanana Chazanga road is in an extremely poor state, which should be a pressing concern for any well-meaning resident of Kabanana ward and surrounding areas.

This road has been in disrepair since 2020, and many people may not have noticed due to my consistent efforts to maintain it by filling potholes whenever I encounter them. I have been diligently working on the entire Kabanana Chazanga road, and I only recently received assistance from Flash at Mainway.

I am confident that others can attest to my efforts, as every time I mend the potholes, people have urged me to stop and wait for a permanent solution, which I acknowledge is necessary. However, given the current circumstances I have encountered, I have been providing temporary solutions, and I am willing to continue working on the Kabanana Chazanga road, starting immediately, provided that the community acknowledges the need for temporary measures while we await a more permanent solution; otherwise, waiting for a permanent solution, our road will be in a very bad state as things stand. My appeal to everyone especially aspiring candidates lets come together and work on our road.

Attached are photos that demonstrate my ongoing efforts to maintain this road since its deterioration began in 2020.

Campaign time is approaching and my advice to aspiring councillors is to be mindful when making promises to our people.
1. CDF is not fully controlled by councillors. ( not all councillors are part of the cdf committee)
2. Councils have committees where decisions are made collectively.
3. Social media does not forget be careful when promising
4. Lastly, I recommend seeking guidance from experienced councillors, both successful and unsuccessful, as they possess valuable insights.

Joseph Katongo (aka Dr Kwantamu),
Kabanana Ward 27,
1st Councillor.
