My dear brothers and sisters of Kabanana Ward 27,
It is with a full heart that I write to you today.
Serving you as your Councillor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. From the very beginning, you entrusted me with a responsibility that I have never taken lightly. Together, we have walked a journey marked by both challenges and meaningful progress. We have faced difficulties, yes, but we have also celebrated victories that remind us what is possible when a community stands united.
I am proud of what we have achieved together. From improving community engagement, to pushing for better services, to standing firm on issues that matter to our people, every step has been driven by your voices, your resilience, and your belief in a better Kabanana.
Today, I wish to inform you that I will not be contesting as councillor for kabanana ward 27.
This has not been an easy decision. However, I firmly believe that leadership is also about knowing when to pass on the baton. Our ward is rich with capable, passionate individuals who carry fresh ideas and new energy. It is important that we allow space for others to serve, to contribute, and to take Kabanana to even greater heights.
Change is not a setback, it is an opportunity for growth.
As I step aside, I do so with confidence in the future of our ward. I urge you all to continue being active, engaged, and united. Support those who come forward to lead, hold them accountable, and continue to demand the development that Kabanana deserves.
Above all, I want to say thank you.
Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for walking this journey with me.
You have not only been constituents, you have been family.
My commitment to Kabanana remains strong. I will always be part of this community, and I will always stand with you.
May God bless you all, and may God bless Kabanana Ward 27.
My next political move will be communicated soon.....
Yours sincerely,
Joseph N. Katongo (Dr Kwantamu)
1st Councillor, Kabanana Ward 27
