FUEL PRICE MAINTAINED
As ERB Cites Stable Market Conditions
Lusaka – Zambian consumers will see no change in fuel pump prices for March 2025, the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) announced Friday. This decision comes amidst fluctuating global oil markets, with the ERB citing that those fluctuations remained within acceptable trigger band thresholds.
According to a statement released by ERB Board Chairperson James Banda, the board’s analysis of international oil prices and the Kwacha’s performance indicated that while minor variations occurred, they did not warrant a domestic price adjustment.
“Since the last fuel price review on 31st January 2025, the international price of petrol marginally increased by 1.93 percent, from US$80.80/bbl to US$82.36/bbl, whereas diesel slightly declined by 2.23 percent, from US$91.62/bbl to US$89.58/bbl. Additionally, the price of kerosene on the international market increased by 0.22 percent, from US$89.61/bbl to US$89.81/bbl.” 1 Said the ERB board chairperson.
Therefore the current prices will remain as they are.Petrol: K34.98 p er litre, Diesel: K32.54 per litre, Kerosene: K29.56 per litre, Jet A-1: K32.51 per litre. The ERB's decision to maintain prices provides a degree of stability for consumers and businesses, mitigating potential inflationary pressures. The board reiterated its commitment to closely monitoring global and local market conditions to ensure fair and transparent fuel pricing.
