Depression

Depression Is A Mental Disorder Marked By Depressive Episodes(persistent feeling of sadness or hopelessness) Associated With Lost Of Interest In Everyday Activity.
Many Patients With Depression May Not Acknowledge Depression Or May Express Vague , Somatic Complaints like Headache, abdominal pain or Muscle tension.

Risk Factors Associated With Depression

1.Environmental Factors:
-Specific Life Changing Events surrounding an Individual Eg. Physical or Sexual Abuse, Loss Of A Job or Death Of A Loved One.
2. Genetics:
Previous Family History Of Depression. Usually First Degree Relatives Have 2 to 4 High Chance Of Developing Depression.
3. Medical Condition :
Depression Is Associated with A lot Of Medical Related Condition And It Increases mortality In Comorbidities Like Diabetes, stroke etc.

Symptoms

- Depressive Mood Most Of The Times( Sad, Happy, Angry Or Irritable)
-Lost Interest In Pleasurable Activities.
-Insomnia( Hard To Fall Asleep And Early Morning Awakening).
-Feeling Of Worthlessness Or Excessive Guilty.
-Decline Concentration
-Fatigue or Low Energy
-Recurrent Thoughts Of Death or Su***de.
-Changes In Appetite.
