𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊

Gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful responses we can give to God. It doesn’t cost us anything, yet it changes everything, it softens our hearts, lifts our spirits, and draws us closer to Him.

In Luke 17:15–16 we read: “One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him, and he was a Samaritan.” Out of ten lepers who were healed, only one returned to give thanks. The miracle was the same for all ten, but the blessing of intimacy with Jesus was reserved for the grateful one.

Gratitude is powerful because it keeps us from forgetting the Giver while enjoying the gift. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what God has already done. More importantly, it turns ordinary blessings into worship, reminding us that every breath, every opportunity, and every answered prayer is an act of God’s grace.

Today, take a moment to be the one who comes back. Don’t just move on to the next request, pause and thank God for the answered prayers, the unseen protections, and the blessings you already hold. Gratitude opens the door for deeper fellowship with Jesus, because thankfulness is the language of faith.
