Iβm one of the lucky people to be born into a large extended family. Many times, Iβve told myself if my elder siblings who were born in the 1970s and 1980s had pushed through school to reach higher institutions, by now Iβd probably have been driving at 18 years old. Iβd be one of those βtuma rich guysβ who say things like, βToday Iβm going to my sisterβs place in Ibex,β or "let me pick up a car at my sister's place ,I'll find u at noon πΉ"or βIβm going to UK to see my brother ,β or βIβm heading to Kitwe to visit my elder sister she's manager at so so .βor " I need a k5000 pocket money ...π"
Iβve often blamed myself for thinking that they didnβt take school seriously, especially since education was much cheaper back then. The moment you finished Grade 12, you could easily get a good government job instantly. Thinking about it now, yes that would have been a privilege that could have made my younger life easier and given me a strong foundation to build on.
But guess what? No one owes me anything! They donβt owe me a car, they donβt owe me a luxurious or fancy life. Each person must learn to build themselves , whether from scratch or from already established assets. Iβm sure there are many people who started from nothing and became some of the most respected individuals in the world. Thatβs my dream, and thatβs where Iβm heading!π
But itβs not easy. I have thousands of plans, yet most canβt be put into action because you only have K10 in your account π. I keep asking myself, βWhat if I donβt make it?β Things look so hard sometimes, and the future seems blurredπ©...especially when you lack the privileges that many young people my age have.π
Still, I believe this is just a phase. Time will tell. Building from scratch is insane , itβs more than difficult!π―π© Parents and elder siblings should strive to work hard and leave a platform for the younger ones, because starting from the ground floor ,infact from the underground floor is not easy at all π₯².
