Youth Voices After Elections

This afternoon, I had the opportunity to feature on Walamo Radio’s Governance Programme, where we discussed important issues affecting young people after the elections.

I highlighted key areas that elected leaders should prioritise as they begin their five-year mandate, particularly in relation to youth empowerment, employment, participation, education, skills development and inclusion in decision-making.

I also encouraged my fellow young people to remain active citizens by reminding our elected leaders of the promises they made during the campaign period. We must continue engaging them constructively and holding them accountable so that the commitments made to the people can be fulfilled.

Our responsibility as young people does not end after voting. It continues through active participation, engagement and accountability.
