‎PEOPLE'S OPINION ON LUSAKA CITY MAYORAL SEAT

‎By Staff Reporter

‎Public opinion gathered in all the seven constituencies of Lusaka district suggest that the current United Party for National Development (UPND) Provincial Vice Secretary of Lusaka, Ms Womba Muzala is the best City's Mayoral aspirant to be adopted and eventually win for the ruling party in the forth coming 2026 general election.

‎People of Lusaka are confident that, with Muzala's adequate political experience, she is capable of delivering service to them as Mayor of the Greater City.

‎As she has passionately, effectively served her party with sincere hardwork and utmost loyalty which cannot be questioned in providing leadership in line with organisational expertise as demanded.

‎Apart from a wealth of academic qualifications she has attained, Muzala is also a board member of the Grain Traders Association of Zambia which gives the people of Lusaka more confidence of her ability to lead them better.

‎PRICE CONTROL ON FERTILIZER, SUGAR AND COOKING OIL WILL PROTECT CONSUMERS

‎In-depth with Chief Editor

‎Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon Chipoka Mulenga should be encouraged by all well- meaning Zambians and stakeholders to urgently suggest to Cabinet for essential commodities like fertilizer, sugar and cooking oil to have their prices controlled.

‎Once this is done, these commodities will be more affordable enabling a uniform price across the country and stabilize the cost of living, thereby allowing the people of Zambia to benefit as the kwacha is doing fine against major convertibles like the US Dollar, Euro among others effectively lowering down the cost of production.

‎The people of Zambia expect such essential commodities to have their prices lowered because our economy is stable as the kwacha has remained resilient on the stock market since the UPND formed government.

‎Once price control is effected, there will be stabilisation in pricing of these goods for the good of the people of Zambia.

‎The impotent opposition cannot support this idea because it will allow the people have access to these essential commodities even though they are the ones screaming loudest about high cost of living which they caused.

‎Progressive leadership like this one of the UPND new dawn government led by President Hakainde Hichilema with a hard-working line minister in Hon Mulenga should be appreciated as its focus is on improving people's livelihoods unlike the clique of thieves which messed up the social, economic and political sectors of our country.

‎Price control under the watch of this noble administration cannot lead to market distortions and shortages as the failed leadership in the opposition suggests.

‎Rather, it will enable a more unified price market across the country and stabilize cost of living for the people.

‎The opposition is very much aware that once price control is effected, consumers will be protected from exploitation which is currently going on in the country.

‎Zambians are not interested in mere opposition political rhetorics but practical leadership as been exhibited by President Hichilema and his working team.

‎DOES MAKEBI ZULU THINK THAT HE WILL BE BURIED TOGETHER WITH ECL, PEOPLE ASK?

‎Zambian people have been left perplexed in the manner Makebi Zulu the so-called Lungu family representative continues to ridicule and insult President Hakainde Hichilema whose office should be respected by all citizens inspite of their tribal, political affiliation or religion.

‎Normal and right thinking Zambians are questioning Zulu's statements concerning the mortal remains of his boss which are so treasonous in nature, enmical to the State and an at of annihilation against President Hichilema towards the people of this country.

‎They ask, does Makebi wants to be buried together with his boss whom the soil has refused, or does he think that there's no life for him once his man is interred?

‎People need answers to how Makebi is acting in a very strange way of holding a co**se at ransom for his political expedience.

‎More questions are surfacing, is it not Makebi who lost the Malambo Constituency seat to the UPND's Peter Phiri inspite of being Eastern Province minister at that particular time in 2021?

‎So does this mean that every speech and action of the losing lawyer Makebi is attached to his political loss as a PF faction member?

‎He has lost all his cases before the court of law in which Joe "Bonanza" Malanji and Raphael Mangani Nakachinda alias Gunyu Masaka were represented by him.

‎Is this also part of the reason as to why he continuously insult and disrespect President Hichilema, Zambia's political man of valor with an impeccable character because of the jailed criminals?

‎Still right thinking and well meaning Zambians both at home and in the diaspora are asking; is Makebi Zulu acting so strangely because his brother is among those who murdered Guntila Muleya in 2024 who used to be the Independent Broadcasting Authority Director General?

‎Answers still can't be found, maybe is it because it was even his brother Caleb Alex Zulu who personally handcuffed Muleya at Mika before murdering him?

‎People need to know also if Makebi Zulu after disrespecting the Zambian Presidency will fly back to Zambia or he will be buried together with his boss?

‎Questions are plenty but people are not sure if that so-called family representative of there's will respond...

‎By the way, the people of Zambia also asked the writer to thank President Hichilema on their behalf for restoring rule of law.

UPND MEDIA STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UPND CONDEMNS MAKEBI ZULU’S IRRESPONSIBLE ATTACKS OVER PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S POSSIBLE ATTENDANCE AT FORMER PRESIDENT LUNGU’S BURIAL

Lusaka, Sunday — The United Party for National Development (UPND) has noted with deep concern the continued and unwarranted public statements by lawyer Makebi Zulu regarding the possible attendance of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema at the burial of the late Sixth Republican President, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Mr. Zulu’s persistent commentary on this solemn national matter is both irresponsible and suspicious, creating unnecessary tension and public anxiety. It is unusual and troubling for anyone to repeatedly object to the sitting Head of State fulfilling his constitutional and ceremonial responsibilities to honour a former Head of State. Such conduct raises legitimate questions about what Mr. Zulu knows or seeks to conceal from the Zambian people.

Let it be made clear that once a funeral is declared a State Funeral, the participation of the sitting President is not a matter of choice, it is a constitutional duty and a national obligation. The President’s presence represents the unity and continuity of the Republic, and such occasions transcend political affiliations or personal egos. National interest must always rise above individual sentiments.

It is therefore immoral and reckless for Mr. Zulu to continue politicising a solemn moment of national mourning. On one hand, he preaches reconciliation and unity, yet on the other, he issues divisive, disrespectful, and misleading remarks against the Head of State. This double standard exposes his lack of sincerity, maturity, and respect for the national healing process.

The UPND views Mr. Zulu’s continued attacks on President Hichilema as acts of malice and political opportunism, disguised under the pretext of legal commentary. Let it be known that we will no longer remain silent as he attempts to tarnish the President’s image or undermine public confidence in the presidency during a period when the nation must stand together in grief and respect.

Moving forward, any further disparaging remarks made by Mr. Zulu will be treated as personal political attacks. Our responses will be directed specifically at him in that capacity, not at the former First Family, whom we continue to hold in high esteem and compassion during this difficult time.

We are also fully aware of Mr. Zulu’s political ambitions, but he must be reminded that he was rejected by his own constituency during the 2021 parliamentary elections. Leadership begins with humility and respect. If your own community has lost confidence in you, how do you expect the wider nation to believe in your message? Before positioning himself as a moral authority on national matters, Mr. Zulu should first reconcile with his own people and rebuild the trust he lost.

Mr. Zulu’s actions portray desperation rather than principle. He would do well to reflect on his conduct, embrace civility, and learn that responsible citizenship involves building unity, not division. The UPND remains committed to fostering a culture of mutual respect, dialogue, and peace, values that define our democracy.

As Zambia prepares to lay to rest a former Head of State, we call upon all citizens to rise above politics and honour this moment with dignity, reflection, and unity. This is a time for collective remembrance, not political point-scoring.

‎MUZALA PLEDGES K20,000 TO SDA VILLA CONGREGATION TOWARDS PURCHASE OF BUS

‎By Staff Reporter

‎United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka City Mayoral aspirant, Womba Muzala has pledged K20,000 to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church of Villa Congregation in Kanyama Constituency towards purchase of a bus.

‎Speaking this afternoon during her interaction with the Dorcas Mothers, Ms Muzala highlighted how important it is for the congregation to have a bus of their own in enabling the faithful mobility when spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

‎It is extremely important for the congregation to have its own bus so that kingdom business is spread with much ease as well as helping out the laity in terms of transport when need arise stated Ms Muzala.

‎She also pledged to donate roofing sheets as the congregation is undergoing a renovation.

‎Ms Muzala reaffirmed President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND new dawn administration's stance on religion that, the party in government will continue supporting freedom of worship without interference as the Church is a partner in national development and should not see itself as a competitor but complimentor in effort.

‎Dorcas Mothers expressed their fraternal gratitude towards Ms Muzala's pledge and indicated that, once the bus is purchased, constraining challenges in movements will be mitigated and help the church even reach out to those in diverse needs.

‎They also thanked her for pledging to donate roofing sheets for the church building especially that rain season is steadily approaching.

Willah Mudolo wants the PF convention to elect a new president to be held online (Zoom).
This is because Mudolo is unable to leave South Africa where he is on court bail.

Mr Mudolo is currently out on bail after he & his wife Zethu were arrested alongside Malawian preacher Bushiri and others on charges of fraud, theft, & money laundering related to an alleged R102m investment scheme.

As part of his bail conditions, he is not allowed to leave South Africa and his passport was confiscated by South African authorities.

From the time he was arrested in 2020, Mudolo has not been allowed to leave South Africa.

His trial for fraud, theft and money laundering will resume in 2026.

He now hopes he can convince PF to hold elections on the internet.

His current media consultant Isaac Mwendela Nsoneka has been going round South African Media Houses trying to place positive articles and statements but to avail as the media there has full details of the criminal matter.

In frustration, last week, they managed to put a recorded interview on voice of America.

But Isaac is very pleased with the money he is making from the PF online candidate.

‎PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA AND SIGNIFICANCY OF THE 61ST
‎INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION ANNIVERSARY

‎By Chief Editor

‎Yesterday President Hakainde Hichilema led a multitude of noble citizens at State House in commemorating our country's 61st Independence Day Celebration Anniversary at State House where his Mozambiquan counterpart His Excellence, Mr Daniel Francisco Chapo was guest of honour.

‎This signifies the great importance President Hichilema and his UPND new dawn government attaches to bilateral relations which were started by our both country's founding fathers in Samora Machel and Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda amidst pressing challenges from colonialists when fighting for our independence.

‎It demonstrates how Presidents Hichilema and Chapo wish to deliver development to their people in respect to the freedom fighters' legacy which should be upheld with the moral value it deserves.

‎President Hichilema's appreciation of freedom fighters for attaining our independence is remarkable in that, it shows his gratitude to what they did as they sacrificed their lives for us to have the freedom and peace we have been enjoying since 1964 upto date and will continue doing so.

‎He clearly stated that the best way of preserving legacy of the freedom fighters is to bring development to the people of Zambia.

‎Both leaders have a mission to serve the Mozambiquan and Zambian people as they will support the Beira-Ndola Petroleum Pipeline as they have also explored collaboration in Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), renewable energy hydropower, including investment in the 1,500 MW Mphanda Nkuwa Project in Mozambique.

‎They are equally committed to joint developments of the Beira, Nacala and Macuse Corridors to boost region trade.

‎The Independence Day Celebration marking our our country's 61st Anniversary was themed"Building a Resilient and Prosperous Zambia".
