ZESCO LOSES K64 MILLION WORTH OF PROPERTY DUE TO VANDALISM


ZESCO has called on stakeholders to join hands with the corporation and end vandalism, describing the vice as detrimental to customer satisfaction in the energy sector.

ZESCO Limited Chief Engineer for Transmission Brian Mumba expressed worry that between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024, ZESCO lost over K64 Million worth of property through vandalism across the country.

Mr Mumba said this during community engagement with stakeholders in Chipata District aimed at mitigating the power deficit.

"Vandalism has really been pushing us backwards as a corporation because it comes with challenges such as frequent power outages due rampant vandalism of service cables and transformers, and this is where we need our able leaders in our communities to help us to curb this vice," he said.

Health Post Construction in Mambilima area of Mkushi Nears Completion.

‎Construction of a new Health Post in Mambilima area in Chitina Ward of Mkushi North Constituency funded through the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), has reached 80% completion.
‎
‎According to the Mkushi Town Council Public Relations Unit, the facility will include a water reticulation system and a staff house, addressing both infrastructure and human resource needs.
‎
‎Once completed, the Health Post will enhance healthcare delivery for the local community, providing essential medical services and contributing to overall public health improvements in Mambilima.
