Supershine University School of Humanities Holds Meeting to Address Student Concerns
Supershine University, under the School of Humanities, held a meeting to hear concerns from students and discuss the way forward on key academic and welfare issues. The engagement brought together students, school management, and union representatives to create a platform for dialogue on challenges affecting learning in the school.
During the meeting, students presented several concerns including a shortage of lecturers that has led to delays in course delivery, *poor time management* in classes, and *meetings that are not held regularly* between student leaders and management. Other issues raised were *limited learning resources* such as textbooks and teaching aids, the need for more *student activities* to enhance engagement, and matters relating to *student leadership* and representation.
The Dean of the School of Humanities, Mr Justin Zulu-ThePanafricanist together with Mr. Israel Munsanje the coordinator for the media department, engaged irectly with the students and listened to each concern raised. Both officials acknowledged the challenges and assured the students that management is committed to improving service delivery and communication within the school.
Meanwhile Mr Zulu directed that the Union should formally present the students by compiling all concerns into a comprehensive report. He stated that submitting the issues in writing will enable the school administration to address them systematically with relevant departments and provide feedback within clear timelines. Union leaders welcomed the directive and pledged to consolidate student input and submit it to the Dean’s office for prompt action.
