COURT FOUND GRIZWELL WITH A CASE TO ANSWER OVER ASSAULT

Losing Mazabuka Central Constituency independent parliamentary candidate Gary Nkombo’s supporter, Grizwell Bulimo Mwiinga, has been found with a case to answer on a charge of assault.

When the matter came up for trial before Resident Magistrate Likando Matakala, Wednesday morning, four witnesses testified against Mwiinga.

Among those who testified were 32-year-old clinical officer Simenda Malambo of Kaonga Mini Hospital, Kenneth Mwangala, a police officer from Mazabuka Police Station, and Charity Chilanga, the complainant in the matter.

After hours of trial, Resident Magistrate Matakala found Grizwell Bulimo Mwiinga with a case to answer and placed him on his defence.

Grizwell is facing one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 248 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

The offence is alleged to have occurred on July 30, 2026.

Resident Magistrate Matakala has since adjourned the matter to 4th September, 2026 for defence.
