After 4 Albums, Mag44 Trades Fame for Purpose
He’s dropped hit after hit, inspired a generation with his faith-driven bars, and dominated the gospel hip-hop scene for over a decade — but now, Mag44 says it’s time to turn the page.
The award-winning rapper, producer, and creative powerhouse — real name Magnus Mando — has announced that his upcoming project will be his final full-length album.
But fans need not panic — the gospel star isn’t quitting music; he’s simply changing his rhythm.
“This isn’t the end of my music, it’s just the end of me making albums. I’ll still be dropping singles, collaborations, maybe even an EP — just no more albums,” Mag44 said.
Having released four studio albums since his 2013 debut Jijue, Mag44 says this decision comes straight from both the heart and the hustle.
“Making an album is expensive and time-consuming. It takes months of work, endless studio hours, and promotion. That’s time away from my family and other things I’m passionate about,” he explained.
Those “other things” include nurturing new talent, running Loop College — his music academy — producing for fellow artists, and expanding his podcast, Truth Tuesday.
“My biggest passion has always been producing and helping others grow. I want to focus on building people, teaching, and creating content that moves our industry forward,” he said.
Far from slowing down, Mag44 is actually gearing up to release more music than ever before.
“When something inspires me, I don’t want to wait a year for an album drop — I just want to release it now. So you might actually hear from me more often.”
Known for his purpose-driven artistry and authenticity, Mag44 says this new chapter is about finding balance — between faith, family, and creativity.
“This isn’t about quitting; it’s about growing. I’ve prayed about it, and I believe God is leading me to pour into others. That’s where my joy is now.”
From the mic to the mixing board, Mag44’s next act promises to be his most impactful yet — proving that even when the spotlight fades, purpose shines brighter than fame.
