By Mildred Chanda

District Commissioner Mr. Chomba Chileshe monitors the following depot satellites: masonde, Chanda Mwamba, Mucheleka, Misambula, Chifwile, Kandata and Shimumbi.

Mr Chomba told all farmers in these depots that no one is allowed to work at the satellite when it's dark especially when its not government time.

During this time Mr. Chomba assured all farmers that government is buying all the maize from farmers just like it's done in the past marketing seasons in the response to the spreading rumor that says government is just buying small amount of maize.

He further emphasized that all small scale farmers who are under FISP is encouraged to sell atleast more than 10 bags of maize to FRA for them to have access to the next FISP program coming this farming season and the reason for this to be done is, government want to make sure no farmer sales fertilizers after receiving.

Mr Chileshe disclosed that government stakeholders, the aged, leaders of the community like headmens/ headwomens and chiefs and people who have serious illnesses are allowed to be attended to as long as they make appointments at a right time.

Mr. Chomba explained that according the BOQ , the Ipusukulo road was slated to have only ten culverts.

He said after an outcry from members of the general public additional 10 culverts were included to a BOQ totaling to 20.

Mr. Chomba emphasised that at this point it will not be possible to add more box culverts as this will be against the bill of quantity.

He also stated that the road was still big enough and that the reason it looked smaller was because of the created drainages .
