FAREWELL & MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE:
I Hon Peter Simon PHIRI , Outgoing Eastern Province Minister and Member Of Parliament For Malambo Constituency:
Friday 15th May, 2026
Fellow residents of Eastern Province; Honourable Chiefs; Civic Leaders; Government Officers; and the People of Malambo Constituency,
As I reflect on my tenure as Provincial Minister and Member of Parliament, I am filled with profound gratitude for the trust, cooperation, and shared purpose that has guided our journey together.
To the Eastern Province Administration, District Commissioners, Heads of Departments, Planners, and all frontline officers, I extend my sincere appreciation. Your commitment to translating policy into action has been remarkable. Together we coordinated responses, monitored CDF implementation, and advanced health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. Our achievements were a team effort, and I leave with great respect for your professionalism and resilience.
To the traditional leadership of Eastern Province, thank you for your wise counsel and steadfast guidance. Your leadership has been central to maintaining stability and ensuring that our development agenda remains rooted in the values and aspirations of our people.
To the people of Malambo Constituency, I am deeply grateful for the mandate you entrusted to me. You held me accountable and openly shared your concerns during community meetings and ward visits. Through the CDF and our collective effort, we have delivered meaningful projects in roads, water supply, schools, clinics, and opportunities for women and youth.
While I am proud of the progress we have made, I am equally aware that much work still remains. Many roads are yet to be opened, more health facilities need strengthening, and our young people require greater skills and opportunities.
In light of this, I humbly seek your continued trust and support. I ask for the opportunity to serve you once more so that we may complete the projects we started and initiate new ones that respond to your priorities. My commitment remains unchanged: to be on the ground with you, to listen, and to work tirelessly for the development of Malambo and the entire Eastern Province.
To all who have witnessed the commissioning of various projects in Mambwe, and to those who serve diligently behind the scenes, I say thank you. The progress we celebrate belongs to all of us.
With the creation of two constituencies in our district, we now have even greater opportunities to accelerate growth and development. I therefore continue to seek your support and partnership as we move forward together.
Let us continue building a better future, united in purpose and guided by the spirit of service.
Hon. Peter Simon Phiri - MP
