UPND Mansa East aspiring candidate Brenda Zaloumis today visited Kolota and Chinama villages to mourn with two bereaved families who recently lost their loved ones under heartbreaking circumstances.

Speaking when she visited the funeral house of the late Collins Mambwe in Kolota Village, Ms. Zaloumis said the death of the young man, who allegedly lost his life after being stabbed with a knife, was a painful loss not only to the family but also to the entire Mansa East community. She noted that Collins was a young man with great potential who could have contributed positively to the development of the area.

She further condemned all forms of violence in communities and called on young people to uphold peace, unity and respect for human life.
Later, Ms. Zaloumis visited Chinama Village to pay her last respects to the late Beatrice Muma, aged 18. She said the death of the young woman was deeply saddening as she had a promising future ahead of her.
She stated that losing young people in society was a painful experience because they represented the future and hope of the community. She also conveyed her condolences to both bereaved families and prayed for God’s comfort and strength during the difficult period of mourning.

She wished the two departed souls eternal peace.
