NRFA COLLECTS K1.6 BILLION FROM TOLL GATES IN 5 MONTHS.

One point six Billion Kwacha has been collected from toll gates by the National Road Fund Agency NRFA between January and may 2025.

Speaking at the ongoing Zambia international Trade Fair in Ndola, NRFA public relations manager Alphonsius Hamachiila, confirmed that the collected revenue has been disbursed for new and ongoing road projects and related activities across the country.

Hamachiila says a total of 7.9 million vehicle passages were processed through 24 inland toll gates and 11 ports of entry during the period.

He clarified that these figures do not include collections from Public Private Partnership (PPP) run toll gates, such as those at Katuba, Manyumbi, and Kafulafuta on the Lusaka-Ndola Road.

Hamachiila emphasised that the agency is complementing PPP-driven road infrastructure development by leveraging the National Road Tolling programme.

He also stated that the NRFA is working with relevant stakeholders to roll out its E-Toll cards at other PPP-operated toll gates.
