I WAS AMONG THOSE WHO DIED.
I remember one day a few years ago, I went to record a Quartet in Ndola .
When I reached there, the arrangement was that we record the whole night because all the gentlemen were working, and my plan was to leave early in the morning after finishing recording because I was rushing for another recording session in Lusaka.
So I had to buy a ticket from the Post bus in advance , I wanted the first bus, I bought and the seat number was 9, and the first bus was supposed to start off around 05hrs and the second bus 06hrs I can still remember that very well , and my ticket was written with a red pen.
19hrs we started our recording up to 03hrs , by 04hrs my friend McLean Afumba escorted me to the station at the post bus.
When we just arrived there we saw the bus leaving the station, he tried to hoot so that I could fast jump on it , awe sure the driver refused, we followed it up to somewhere Kafubu River thinking he was going to stop, awe the driver still never stopped.
We got upset, we returned to the station, I was given another ticket for the second bus which was starting off around 06hrs, full of complaints in my heart, I was really upset with the driver of the first bus. I was given another ticket, written with a blue pen seat number 3.
Exatly 05:55, the bus started off, Post bus was one of the best public transport, because they always kept time , I don't know if they still are .
The difference between these two busses was an hour , it's like they were following each other.
Just when we reached at landless corner, we saw a lot of traffic jum, then we heard that the first post bus was involved in a road traffic accident and over 50 people died there on spot .ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. .you can imagine how I felt., I started shivering, I didn't know what to say. So that delay was a certain communication to me from God , but because we don't see what God sees, we want to do what we think is good for us .
We reached at the scene, oh my God !!!!!! It was really a fatal accident.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ , the bloodiest accident I have ever seen in my entire life .ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I asked myself even the person who sat on my seat has died?
Friends I asked a lot of questions within me , I started receiving calls from everywhere, we continued our journey up to Lusaka.
LESSON
In life when bad things happen to us , we need to thank God, it maybe for our good .
Today you wouldn't even know about the Davies Mulaya you know today and I know God spared my life for many reasons which I may not even know.
When you see me sing , when you listen to some of the songs I have sung they are written out of experiences , I LIVED them and I LIVE them .
When you see your friends happening today, don't hate them instead celebrate with them and learn from them, when your friends are going through trying moments, don't laugh at them instead be with them and comfort them , pray with them and give them hope that one day it shall be well with them , always God spares our lives not because we are better than those who die before us , but for reasons known to Himself. I will live to testify the goodness of the Lord in both good and bad times.
