Tuesday 21.01.25 : Scripture Reading
Theme: Obedience to God - John 14:21
"Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”
Reflection:
Obedience is how we show our love to God. It is how God feels loved by us. We love God because He is good, and as a response to His Great LOVE for us. Let's not just tell God that we love Him, instead, let us accompany our words with obedience to His Commandments, His Word, His will, His teachings and instructions. This is because the evidence of our love for God is our obedience to Him. In the words of our Lord Jesus, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
Reflection Questions:
How do you show obedience to God in your personal life?
Is there any instruction that God has given you that you haven't obeyed or have delayed to obey?
Do you examine your conscience oftenly to see if you've obeyed God's commandments, and thereafter prepare for the Sacrament of Confession?
Let's Prayer
Dear Father, we desire to obey You and Your commandments. We ask The Holy Spirit to help us and to give us the strength to obey You, even when it's difficult. We pray that we may love You not just by our words but by our obedience to You. Amen.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏👏👏👏
Jesus had one priority: To do the will of His Father. He is a model of perfect obedience, and our goal is to follow His example.
