Proposed Constituencies to be created*
Mafinga Constituency (Parent, in existence and name maintained) with 60, 000 plus registered voters.

Muyombe Constituency (Proposed) with over 42, 000 plus registered voters.

*Ward Composition By Constituency*
Mafinga would have 8 Wards (Mafinga, Musipizi, Senje, Ntonga, Thendele, Mululu, Bemba and Mukutu) while Muyombe would have 5 Wards (Kakoma, Mahobe, Kalanga, Vumbo and Luhoka).

"Kindly note that Chief Muyombe of the Yombe People submitted a written proposal regarding the delimitation of Mafinga Constituency."

Fundraising Drive Gains Momentum Ahead of Ncwala Ceremony
Fundraising activities for the 2026 Ncwala traditional ceremony have intensified as traditional leaders and organising committees mobilise resources to ensure a successful cultural event in Zambia.

The annual ceremony, scheduled to take place at Mtenguleni Village in the Eastern Province, is expected to draw thousands of local and international visitors. The event is presided over by Paramount Chief Mpezeni and celebrates the Ngoni people’s first fruits and cultural heritage.

Organisers say fundraising efforts have focused on mobilising support from the business community, cooperating partners and members of the public. Funds raised will be allocated towards logistics, cultural performances, security arrangements, and infrastructure preparations ahead of the ceremony.

Traditional leaders have since called for increased participation from stakeholders, stating that collective contributions are key to preserving Zambia’s cultural identity. They have further encouraged corporate entities to partner with communities in supporting traditional ceremonies that promote unity and tourism development.

Meanwhile, traders and small-scale entrepreneurs are anticipating increased business opportunities during the ceremony, with local authorities expecting a boost in tourism and economic activity in the province.

The Ncwala ceremony remains one of the country’s most prominent traditional gatherings, and coverage by media houses such as Zambia Daily Mail and ZNBC is expected to highlight its cultural significance and national value.
