*WHAT IS WORTHINESS?*
For me, I thought worthiness meant being purely clean. Perfect. No mistakes.
But we are just human beings. We sin every day — in thought, in looking, in speaking, and in things we don't even notice.
So can we really call ourselves worthy to enter the temple? Are we worthy for sacred callings? Are we even worthy to be called sons and daughters of God?
The truth is, on our own, we are not.
*Romans 3:23* - _"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."_
But worthiness is not about being perfect. It's about being willing to repent and let Christ make us clean.
*Psalm 24:3-4* - _"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart..."_
God doesn't ask for a perfect history, He asks for a clean heart TODAY.
*1 John 1:9* - _"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."_
His blood is what makes us worthy, not our own goodness.
*2 Corinthians 5:21* - _"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."_
We are not worthy because we never fall, we are worthy because we keep rising, with virtue in our thoughts.
*D&C 121:45* - _"Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God."_
And yes, you ARE worthy to be called His child. Not because you earned it, but because He paid for it.
*1 John 3:1* - _"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God."_
*Moroni 10:32* - _"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him..."_
So don't disqualify yourself. Come as you are, repent, and let Christ make you worthy.
