On a Sad note

LIGHTENING STRUCK TO DEATH A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL OF MKUSHI .
‎
‎A 14 year old girl of Mkushi's Jakt Farm identified as Jennifer Mambwe has been struck to death by lightening an incident that occurred today 3rd May ,2025 around 15 hours.
‎
‎Central Province Police Commissioner Charity Munganga confirmed the incident in a statement made available to Mkushi radio news stating that on 3rd May,2025, at 15:00hrs the now deceased went to remove clothes from the dry wire after observing that the rains were about to start and it was at this point that she was struck by lightening and died on the spot.
‎
‎Madam Munganga added that matter was reported to Police who visited the scene and inspected the body which had lightening burns on the left side of her body.
‎
‎The body was later rushed to Mkushi District Hospital where she was pronounced dead and the body has since been deposited in Mkushi District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.

KOPALA LOCAL DERBY LEAVES LEVY MWANAWASA STADIUM VANDALISED.

Today, 20th April 2025. The Zambia Super League game 32, Nkana hosted Power Dynamos on a Neutral ground at the Levy mwanawansa stadium. As it has been for many years, Nkana football club and Power Dynamos emersed from the hearts of Copperbelt (Kitwe) which both grew bigger and attracted huge clouds respectively till date. The dust still remains unsettled as to which is the best team in the Kopala derby as called by many.

As usual, The game kicked off at exactly 15hrs CAT which saw both sides with a square results at half time. The second half brought so much entertainment as Nkana equalized through Jacob Ngulube in the 64th minute. Power Dynamos replied through a penalty shot by Brian Masanyinga in the 99th minute after additional time and the game ended 1-1.

It is believed that the penalty awarded to Power Dynamos caused Chaos, leaving the stadium Vandalized.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is yet to issue a statement over the incident.

Luano district commissioner Kell's Meleki has warned and cautioned drivers against over speeding as they approach the Zambia corner area along the Masansa, Mboroma road in Luano valley.
His appeal comes after a truck registration GRZ 729 belonging to Zambia Medicines and Medical supplies agency ZAMMSA, carrying boxes of essential medicines including ARVS and test kits destined for Mboroma health center, Mulembo health center,Chingombe mission health, Tumbwe health and Mboshya health center in luano valley overturned at Zambia corner area on Monday afternoon.
Mr Meleki says drivers need to exercise patience on the road to reduce road traffic accidents and avoid over-speeding as they approach the area which has become a dangerous spot.

Meanwhile, ZAMMSA transport and distribution manager ,Felix Cheele, said the institution is yet to ascertain the extent of the damage but the boxes of medication and kits have been safely delivered to the health centers.
Mr Cheele said ZAMMSA will continue to ensure health facilities receive essential medication for proper health care delivery.
