✔️ Talk to your customers and understand their real needs.
✔️ Move fast on decisions, quotes, and opportunities.
✔️ Launch your ideas even if they’re not perfect — progress beats perfection.

Today marked an important milestone for us at ZAMPOST Livingstone as we officially launched the BE FORWARD Service Point at the Zambia Postal Services Corporation office in Livingstone.

As District Postmaster, I was honoured to welcome our distinguished guests, partners, and members of the community to this significant occasion. This launch represents more than the introduction of a new service counter — it reflects a strong partnership aimed at bringing services closer to the people and improving convenience for our customers.

ZAMPOST has proudly served the Livingstone community for generations by connecting people, businesses, and opportunities. Through our collaboration with BE FORWARD Zambia, we are expanding access to services by creating a platform where customers can access postal services while exploring opportunities for vehicle ownership and business growth.

This partnership demonstrates our continued transformation into a modern service hub focused on innovation, efficiency, and enhanced customer experience.

I wish to sincerely thank BE FORWARD Zambia, our Provincial Office, stakeholders, and the people of Livingstone for supporting this initiative. Together, we remain committed to serving our community better and moving forward together.

UPDATE: Julius Malema Sentenced in Firearm Case — 16 April 2026

The East London Regional Court today sentenced EFF leader Julius Malema to 5 years direct imprisonment for the unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of ammunition. This stems from the 2018 incident at the EFF’s 5th anniversary rally in the Eastern Cape.

Is he going to prison now?
No. His legal team immediately applied for leave to appeal. The court granted the application and extended his bail. He will not be taken into custody while the appeal process is underway.

What does this mean for Parliament?
Under Section 47 of the South African Constitution, a person sentenced to more than 12 months’ imprisonment without the option of a fine is disqualified from being a Member of Parliament. However, this only takes effect once all appeal options have been exhausted. For now, Mr Malema remains a Member of Parliament.

Next steps
The matter will now proceed to a higher court. The appeals process may take several months or longer. A prison term will only be served if the sentence is upheld through all levels of appeal, including the High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal.

In summary:
The sentence has been handed down, but it is not being implemented pending the outcome of the appeal.
