*ZICTA PAYS A PROFESSIONAL VISIT TO ESA*

27th February 2025 has been placed on records as a team of professionals from *Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA)*, led by the Regional Manager Miss Chewe Mutale paid a courtesy call on the school, to sensitize learners on the prudent use of cyber space.

The Regional Manager started by highlighting ZICTA's mandate such as cyber security, consumer protection, licence issuance to media houses and working hand in hand with law enforcement agencies to curb crimes.

The Manager was quick to state that children below the age of 13 should not be exposed to social media platforms as some contents may not be appropriate for the under aged. It was discovered that most of the children are already exposed to cyber space which calls for quick intervention by educators, parents and other stakeholders to regulate access.

"Use internet for researching school work, do not spend time on things which will not help you excel in your academics. If you have TikTok account, freeze it when you get home because you will be watching things you're not supposed to see" She echoed.

Finally, She encouraged learners to work very hard for them to realize their dreams of becoming who they want to be after school and to always stay online safe because cyber related crimes are on a rise

*CAREERS' DAY SUCCESSFULLY HELD*

In line with the calendar of the school, 7th June 2024 has been placed on record for having been able to successfully conduct the 2024 careers' day celebrations.

The school Director was in attendance to encourage and enlighten learners on what it takes for them to realise their prospective careers.

"I'm so elated to be part of this programme, All professions need people who are goal oriented and determined, it is possible to be who you want to be as long as you study hard." He echoed.

He also indicated how happy he was to see one of the pupils named *Hope Chibinda* the only one intending to venture into farming. He motivated her to work hard to achieve this dream. " the importance of farming stands out owing to the fact that food is a basic need." He emphatically indicated.

No sooner had the Director concluded his short educative speech than Ms. *Ethel Nangoyi Lukonde* the Transactional Risk Officer from Stanbic Choma took the stage.

She motivated the prospective bankers to put in their best for them to achieve the set goals. furthermore, She vividly indicated the key subject areas for this career being, mathematics, Business Studies, English language among others.

In her final remarks, Ms. Lukonde invigorated all learners to study hard as this is the only prerequisite to a bright future.

Mr. Mainza Derrick, one of the teachers gave a vote of thanks, He thanked the school management for successfully organizing the event. Parents were also thanked for supporting the programme through ensuring that children put on attires in line with their career prospectives.
