BY Staff Reporter
Gospel musician Wiseman Gwashure has unveiled his latest 10-track album, Panashe (Tichibhutsura Madhimoni), 10-track album, Panashe (Tichibhutsura Madhimoni), in a colourful Harare launch that brought together musicians, church followers and gospel music fans.
Gwashure, backed by his band The Born Again, took centre stage on Saturday as he officially introduced the project, which he described as a product of prayer and faith.
The album features Ruoko Runopa, Panashe, Jehovah Ndimi Baba, Chiroto Changu, Pepuka, Pindirai Jehova, Marah, Ndisiyei Zvangu, Tsitsi Dzinoera and Bhutsura Madhimoni (2).
The launch turned into a celebration of gospel music, with performances from Izodzo Choral Group, Followers of Christ, Trymore Bande, Rap Guru, Solomon Kaporoma, LG Wenyasha and Pastor Mateke, among others.
Gwashure, who was visibly emotional during the event, paid tribute to his spiritual father, Bishop Dr Sydney Mabhiza, as well as fellow musicians and fans who supported the project.
“I want to thank my Bishop, Dr S Mabhiza, for allowing God to use me, and my brother Mambo Dhuterere for the support. This album was birthed in prayer,” he said.
He revealed that he composed all the songs on the album except Pindirai Jehovah, which was written by Bishop Mabhiza.
“My prayer is that when people listen to Panashe, madhimoni abhutsurwe chaiko,” he said.
The launch also featured an endorsement from fellow gospel star Mambo Dhuterere, born Darlington Mutseta, who praised Gwashure for using music to communicate Christian values and morality.
Dhuterere described Panashe as more than an entertainment project, saying it carries a message aimed at encouraging Christian living.
The two musicians fellowship under the St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World, led by Bishop Mabhiza.
With its mix of praise, worship and live performances, the launch marked a major step in Gwashure’s gospel music journey as he takes Panashe to his audience.
