A 20-year-old carpenter, Francis Cudjoe is currently serving a 50 year prison sentence for defiling a primary two pupil.

The seven year old victim lived with her mother, Hathia Ama Mary, a very close friend of Cudjoe at Abankyi, a suburb of Tarkwa.

Hathia is said to operate a chop bar and the convict, usually run errands for her.

Cudjoe is reported to have taken advantage of the relationship between them sneaking into the victim's room to have s*x with her.

The victim is said to have confided in her teachers about her ordeal when they confronted her.
The teachers then broke the news to her mother who also reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Tarkwa leading to Cudjoe's arrest.

Before his sentencing, Cudjoe is said to have knelt and offered an apology to everyone in the court room, especially the victim’s mother.

Cudjoe was charged on two counts of defilement which earned him 25 years sentence each to be served consecutively.

After almost a year of Cudjoe's incarceration, the mother of the accused told Crime Check TV Gh, that her son was coerced by the CID to plead guilty.
But assuming Cudjoe truly did it, do you think Cudjoe deserves more than 50 years for defiling a seven year old girl?

Sir Wicknell met Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, and was struck by the President's profound grasp of project financing models, regional trade opportunities, and strategies for youth empowerment.

CHivayo said; "In our meeting, His Excellency spoke passionately about sustaining Nigeria’s role as Africa’s ECONOMIC POWERHOUSE while maintaining INCLUSIVE GROWTH and national UNITY. He repeatedly emphasized the “AFRICA FIRST” philosophy, which presupposes that Africa must PRIORITIZE itself, put its people FIRST, and find home-grown solutions to its own challenges.

"His conviction that AFRICANS must shape and drive their own destiny resonated deeply with President E.D Mnangagwa’s VISION. It perfectly mirrors the philosophy, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo”, meaning “A Nation is built and developed by its OWN PEOPLE. This reminder reinforced my belief in the EXCEPTIONAL CAPACITY that we, as Africans, possess to BUILD THE AFRICA WE WANT, in ways that reflect our needs and our aspirations."

The City of Harare has ordered the removal of a community solar-powered borehole in Ward 31, Glen View, within 48 hours to make way for the development of four infill residential stands.

The decision has sparked outrage among residents, who say the move will severely affect their access to clean water.

The borehole, which serves approximately 2,800 residents, has been a vital lifeline in a community where water shortages are frequent.

Residents fear that removing the borehole will force families to rely on unsafe water sources, worsening health and sanitation challenges in the area.
