• Men's mental health faces global misconceptions, "real men don't cry" and "asking for help is weakness" lead to silent suffering. In many African communities, including Zimbabwe, these issues are magnified. Strong masculine norms demand stoicism, making vulnerability a source of shame. Mental health problems are often attributed to spiritual causes, diverting men from professional help. Limited awareness and access to services, combined with immense pressure to be providers, mean many men endure mental distress in isolation. Breaking this cycle requires education and culturally sensitive support.
