African, but with a twist.

The older I get, the more I realise my story doesn’t fit neatly into one box.

I was born in Zimbabwe but grew up in the UK. For a long time, I felt like I had to choose which part of me was more “me.” Now I realise I don’t have to.

Every time I come home, something shifts. It reminds me where my values come from, why community means so much to me, and why I care so deeply about the future of Africa.

Maybe that’s the twist. I’m African, shaped by two worlds. I carry my roots with me wherever I go, and instead of seeing that as a contradiction, I’ve started to see it as a gift.

I get to honour where I’ve come from while helping build where we’re going. And I think that’s exactly the kind of African I was always meant to be.

For years we’ve been told to “pick one thing,” stay in our lane, and build a single identity.

But what if that’s the very thing stopping people from walking fully in their purpose?

Not everyone is called to wear one hat. Some people are wired to bridge industries, communities, and ideas. Your gifts aren’t competing with each other - they’re working together.

Stop apologising for having more than one passion. Stop shrinking yourself to fit someone else’s definition of success.

You don’t have to choose between the different parts of who you are.

Sometimes your greatest contribution to the world is found in the AND, not the OR.

There is something you’re sitting on right now that could completely change your life. An idea, a gift, a vision, a business, a message, or a calling. But it will never grow if you keep treating it like a side thought. At some point, you have to stop waiting for more confidence, more clarity, or the perfect moment, and decide that what you’ve been given deserves your full commitment.

Going all in doesn’t mean you won’t feel afraid - it just means fear is no longer making your decisions. Deep down, you already know what you need to take seriously. The only question is: how much longer are you going to sit on it?

2016 ➝ 2026

2016 Rodna had no idea who 2026 Rodna was becoming.

If you’d asked me back then what the next ten years would look like, I couldn’t have told you.

There were seasons that didn’t make sense. Closed doors. Delays. Moments where I questioned whether I was on the right path.

But God was preparing me in ways I couldn’t yet see.

The journey wasn’t just about becoming a speaker. It was about becoming the woman who could carry the assignment.

If you’re in a season where nothing seems to make sense, don’t lose heart. You don’t need the full picture.

Trust the One who does.

One day you’ll look back and realise that every step, every setback, and every season was preparing you for something greater than you could have imagined.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

I can’t wait for this conversation to go live tomorrow at 7am.

We talked about ambition, motherhood, leadership, identity, and what it really means to be a woman today. Because we’re more than our job titles. We’re leaders, wives, mothers, daughters, friends… and yes, sometimes we’re just baby girls trying to figure it all out.

I don’t think anyone is looking for one-dimensional women anymore. We’re embracing every part of who we are and learning how to thrive in all of it.

Sunday night reflection. A reminder that you don’t have to stay in the box you created years ago, or the one other people placed you in. You’re allowed to grow, pivot, explore something new, and reinvent yourself. Life changes, priorities change, and so do we. The version of you that got you here isn’t necessarily the version that will take you where you’re going, and that’s okay. Keep becoming, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to honour the season you’re in. Have a restful Sunday.

Comparison has a way of making us forget what makes us unique.

It's easy to look at someone else's success and think, "They're already doing what I want to do."

But people can copy your strategy.
They can copy your content.
They can even copy your business model.
What they can never copy is your story, your perspective, your personality and the way only you communicate it.
That's what makes you unique.

Stop trying to compete. Start becoming more of yourself.
