Zim Hip Hop Underground: Celebrating a Year of Breaking Barriers
One of the proudest achievements of Zim Hip Hop Underground has been amplifying the voices of Zimbabwe's underground hip hop scene, with a focus on showcasing talent from all 10 provinces and the diaspora. We've had the privilege of featuring talented artists from diverse backgrounds, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, and other provinces. We've also highlighted the work of Zimbabwean artists based in the diaspora, including those residing in the UK, Poland, Australia, and India. Through interviews, features, and music showcases, we've provided a platform for these artists to share their stories, music, and perspectives with a wider audience.

We've arranged interviews for featured artists with major platforms in Zimbabwe, including ZTN, ZBC TV, NRTV, Power FM, Zi FM, and newspapers like The Herald, NewsDay, and ZimSphere. Many of these artists' first time on such prominent platforms. Some have even gone on to dominate radio charts, reaching a wider audience and cementing their positions as leading voices in Zimbabwean hip hop. Additionally, our featured artists have seen significant growth on YouTube, with many achieving impressive viewership numbers.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, Zim Hip Hop Underground aims to continue supporting and featuring emerging artists, while expanding our reach to new audiences. We're excited to arrange collaborations between underground artists, fostering creativity and innovation within the scene. Additionally, we're planning a cypher event, providing a platform for artists to showcase their skills and compete in a friendly environment. We'll also continue to collaborate with other music platforms and organizations to further amplify Zimbabwean hip hop. Our ultimate goal is to solidify Zin Hip Hop Underground as a leading platform for Zimbabwean hip hop, while nurturing the next generation of talent.
