Shumba’s Bloody Trail Exposed as ‘Untouchable’ Businessman Vanishes

A chilling wave of violence has rocked the Mazoe mining district, exposing a dark web of alleged corruption and armed thuggery linked to a prominent local businessman.

ZiMetro News can exclusively reveal that the tranquility of a local mining administrative site was shattered when a gang of machete-wielding goons launched a savage assault on security personnel, leaving a trail of blood and unanswered questions.

At the heart of this brewing storm is Tafadzwa Shumba, the brother of the now-elusive businessman Mr. Prosper Shumba. Eyewitnesses described a scene of pure terror, claiming Tafadzwa was seen brazenly brandishing an AK47 rifle, while another accomplice was armed with a pistol.

Despite the gravity of this armed insurrection, the Shumba brothers appear to be operating above the law, with Tafadzwa still at large and Prosper reportedly in hiding.

Reckless, Dangerous, and a Menace...He Shot Himself Breaking Free – Then Tried to Kill Cops!

Borrowdale residents witnessed pure chaos when 37-year-old Ross Terrence Leaper went on a drunken rampage — stabbing his neighbour, shooting himself in the arm while trying to cut off handcuffs with a grinder, and then opening fire on police officers in a brazen act of defiance.

The Borrowdale gunman is now facing charges of assault, malicious damage to property, and failing to secure a dangerous stockpile of weapons which he recklessly kept under his bed.

According to court papers, the drama started on August 20, 2025, when a visibly intoxicated Leaper stormed his neighbour Ashleigh Smith’s home. He demanded entry, but when refused, he turned violent.

Smith’s daughter quickly phoned her father, John Du Rand, who arrived only to find Leaper shirtless, armed with a hunting knife, and completely out of control. Leaper stabbed Du Rand on the hand and eye before Du Rand and his friend Brandon Ward wrestled him down.

The J and P Security Reaction Team cuffed him and filed a police report.

But this was only the beginning. Moments later, Leaper escaped and rushed back to his house. When police and the security team tracked him down, they found him in his kitchen grinding through the handcuffs like a movie villain.

In the process, he managed to shoot himself in the arm while attempting to break free.

Instead of giving up, Leaper went berserk — storming into his bedroom, grabbing a gun, and charging at the police officers and security guards.

The terrified officers and guards fled for their lives, abandoning a Mahindra security vehicle. Leaper then went ballistic, pumping 11 bullets into the car — five through the bonnet, three through the windscreen, one at the driver’s side window, and two through the rear screen.

Borrowdale residents ducked for cover as the gunfire rang out, turning the quiet suburb into a war zone.

Police later discovered that Leaper was sitting on a dangerous private armoury, all stashed recklessly under his bed instead of in a secured gun cabinet. The weapons included a .22 rifle, a 12 Bore shotgun, a Wi******er rifle, a R***r rifle, a CZ pistol, and two air rifles.

Leaper is being described as a “ticking time bomb” who endangered the entire community and attempted to kill police officers in cold blood.
