Ordinary Zimbabweans are calling on MPs to push for laws banning pitbull ownership in the country following a recent incident where a Harare man was mauled to death by a pitbull.

This isn't an isolated incident, as there have been several reported cases of pitbull attacks in Zimbabwe, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
Countries like the UK, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Venezuela, Israel, and Norway have either banned or imposed strict restrictions on pitbull ownership.

Some of the concerns driving the call for a ban include:
Public Safety - Pitbull attacks have resulted in serious injuries and fatalities, emphasizing the need for action to protect citizens.
Irresponsible Ownership - Cases like Mike Mupinga's, where neighbors complained about his pitbulls being a menace, demonstrate the importance of regulating ownership.
Alternative Breeds - Pet owners can opt for breeds known for their kindness and loyalty, providing a safer environment.

Former Zambian President, Edgar Lungu, has died.

He passed away in South Africa where he was receiving treatment.

He was 68.

Lungu served as the sixth President of Zambia from January 25, 2015, to August 24, 2021.

Lungu's presidency was marked by controversy, economic challenges, and allegations of corruption.

He lost his re-election bid to current President, Hakainde Hichilema, in August 2021.

Lungu later announced his retirement from active politics but later returned to lead the Patriotic Front party.

The Constitutional Court ultimately barred him from running for another term.
