Two people died in the early hours of 22 August 2026 following a road accident along the Bulawayo–Harare Road in the Makey area of Kwekwe.

The accident occurred when an Aquilla Motors recovery truck reportedly lost control.

The deceased have been identified as a young man known as Thubalihle, who worked for Aquilla Motors, and a woman identified as Musa from Mbizo 15.

May their souls rest in peace.

An unidentified man has been caught by members of the public in Mbizo 15, Kwekwe, on the evening of 10 August 2026 after he unlawfully entered a premises and was found standing near a locked door. He allegedly pretended to be looking for a non-existent person. The man was armed with a knife.

It remains a mystery what he was intending to do while armed with a tool which is prohibited to carry around.

A fresh recent video has surfaced online showing a Kwekwe City Council worker being drenched with super dirty, very dirty water by other City Council officers over an unknown issue.

Are these the very same officers who are soon going to be handed powers to arrest people who violate City Council rules?

However, this might be a normal disciplinary system, but since the video has leaked, it has raised concern among members of the public.

One Dead, Several Injured in Kwekwe Road Accident

A horrific road traffic accident occurred along the Bulawayo–Harare Road in Kwekwe on 25 July 2026 at around 9:00 p.m. The crash happened at the flyover near the Redcliff turn-off.

Preliminary reports indicate that a private vehicle lost control, veered off the flyover and plunged over the bridge. Several passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital, while one person was pronounced dead.

24/07/2026: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edmore Chigapa, affectionately known as MaSparrow, a resident of Mbizo 15, Kwekwe. He was a well known small-scale miner.

According to reports, he had been unwell for some time. Sadly, he has passed away due to complications associated with silicosis.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

KWEKWE — A 27-year-old bartender is in police custody after a customer was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute at Mbizo 22 Tuckshops on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at around 6:00 pm on 13 July 2026. Police say the victim, Marshal Muyuni, was drinking at the tuckshops when an argument broke out with the bartender, Simbarashe Sithole, over change.

Reports indicate that the argument allegedly turned physical when Muyuni slapped Sithole before walking away. Sithole is then alleged to have followed him and stabbed him a short distance from the tuckshops.

Members of the public rushed Muyuni to Kwekwe General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the arrest.

"We urge members of the public to seek peaceful ways of resolving conflict to avoid the unnecessary loss of life," he said.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of a young man, William Mlambo, who was a resident of Mbizo 17, Kwekwe.

A close relative has confirmed that he developed a boil, better known as mota, internally in his h£ad. When it matur£d and b¥rst, pus, known as hurwa, reportedly entered his br@in, leading to his tragic death. Sadly, he passed away today, 05 June 2026, on his 19th birthday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a horrific road traffic accident which occurred at the 223-kilometre peg along the Harare–Bulawayo Road near the Redcliff turn-off on 25 May 2026 at approximately 1745 hours. Six people tragically lost their lives when a Honda Fit collided with a haulage truck.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that among the six victims were two beloved congregants from St. Edward’s Parish in Newtown, Kwekwe — Anesu Nyaruvende and Sharon Gundani. May their souls rest in eternal peace.
